You can see the deer crossing around 0:14 ahead. I read the comments on the video from the driver/poster and he said the crew told him the deer was gone. Otherwise he would've tried to avoid it.

I shudder to think of what that deer looked like afterward. I thought it was bad cleaning bug guts off of the front of my car. Yeesh..give me crickets and mosquitos, etc. anyday....
I wonder if insurance would cover that considering he was racing at the time??

They do.

Suckers can bounce along >40mph. Mating sseasson speedss them up to ~60mph

Drivers are lucky to survive. Always dawn or dusk so it's hard to see.

The driver in the red Mustang saw the deer ahead and was drive slow to avoid it!! But the Corvette driver thought it was nice that the Mustang was letting him to pass. Then BAM hit by Bambi!! And I bet the Mustang driver was laughing as he drove by!!

Its scary to see the stuff that flys at the driver. I hope he had goggles or glasses on. Seeing that glass/pieces of deer fly into the car makes me cring like he did when he saw it coming.

Crosses the track in front of the red car from left to right, then comes back at a point where the Corvette could hardly avoid it... Probably because he's indeed looking at the car that he's passing in the mirror.

My common sense would be if you see or have to brake for a deer (which isn't exactly something normal on track) to put on the car's four indicators as well, so at least the car behind you gets a warning of what's coming...

I saw the same thing......about 15 seconds in you can see it run in front of the black car.....in my neck of the woods.....once one runs across the road.....you BETTER look for him to come back across......it happens all the time.

I don't think he touched the brakes.

Be thankful it wasn't a moose...

Well, on the bright side, the corvette driver is a FST LRNR, so it'll probably never happen again.

I like how the only thing that came through the window was the deer's head. Tried to give the driver a kiss goodnight before it's long sleep.
