Hey, not a stupid question. The factory remote start has a hood open fail safe, so you're not able to remote start it with the hood open. That signal is controlled by the factory hood latch, which is removed using our kit. Without the latch the car thinks the hood is always open, so our adapter plugs into the factory latch plug and provides the signal it needs to work like normal.

Thanks so much for the clarification.

Had my Halo Supercars reverse tilt hood kit installed yesterday. Love the look for sure. Wishing my remote starr would work but I'll adress that issue later I guess.

Has anyone put one of these on any of the VIS Carbon Fiber hoods. I would love to do this to mine but I am a little concerned about the holes that have to be tapped for the additional hinges and brackets. I'm not sure if the underside of the hood will accommodate that. I wouldn't want screws poking through the hood, or the hinge to crack it. It would be awesome for shows to show off the hood and under it.

Anyone have ideas, feedback or done this on a Vis or similar hood?

Yeah, there are a few out there on non-stock hoods. Here's one we recently saw that's a VIS.

Most hoods already have a plate in the front, but you may want to make sure it's large enough. With any fiberglass hood, we recommend adding some metal plates to the area where the hinge and struts will mount. More important for the hinge, as that holds the load.

Awesome, thats the exact hood I have, so it looks like it will work! Thanks! Did they do any extra bracing for it?

PS, Anyone know if this is person is a member here? I would love to talk to them about what they have done to dress up the underside of the hood.

Our kit should fit any hood. It really comes down to the hood itself and how well it's made, and how much strength it has, whether or not it needs reinforcement.

Early Spring sale, half price shipping till the end of the month on our reverse tilt hood kits. Just put "Camaro5 Half price shipping" in the order notes, and we'll adjust it when we process your order.

Don't forget we have pre-cut factory cover panels, or the super clean ACS cover panel for our kit in stock as well, if you don't want to cut yours up!
