MACE Ported IM Question
Last week I installed the IM and IM insulator and Plenum spacer.
I wasn't able to put the back two screws in (which i hear is common), but I also wasn't able to get the back screw in for the plenum spacer OR the brace that (kind of) connects the throttle body to the engine block... It's running great, amazing in fact. Just wondering if I should be worried about the throttle body mount not working anymore (only using the 4 screws that go into the IM) |

Glad you got it sorted out and running
![]() Those few bolts I wouldn't worry. I been running with mine off for almost a year with zero issue. Thanks for the feedback. I also emailed you Jarrett. Just wondering if you been able to ship the core back yet, or are you planning to keep. Either way, could you please email me the tracking so I can log it in as a proof for core return, or let me know if you plan to keep the core. Thanks Jarrett! ;-) Jay@Mace USA Velocityport410@gmail.com Jay@Mace USA Velocityport410@gmail.com

Installed both plenum and IM spacers yesterday. Thanks Mace for shipping and kits.
Sleez made a REAL helpful post in the DIY section on the install, thank you Sleez, pics and all, GREAT POST ! In his post, for the two horizontal bolts supporting the rubber insulator on the back of the manifold, he showed a couple of brackets he made from angle irons to extend and secure that insulator. This was KEY in the reinstallation. A bit of a pest to thread and install, but can be done. I ended up doing a few small mods on the reinstall because of the aft IM bolt and aft plenum bolt. I removed (pulled back) the fairing mounted at the base of the windshield (wiper fairing) and made a hole in the metal under that fairng to install the aft IM bolt. That bolt is a pain and probably needs to be put in when the spacers and Plenum can all be installed as an assembly. Pretty sure this is waht Sleez meant to do, but I didn't get that when reading through it. Got it when I was installing, but all sealant was in already, oh well. I had put the IM spacers down, sealed and mounted the IM, then in trying to put that aft bolt in, couldn't get the angle needed so the hole in the structure above helped. As far as the aft plenum bolt, I shaved a cutout from the same metal structure enough to put the aft plenum bolt in. All installed, but to your point, YES, the aft bolts are more than expected in the reinstall. Need to follow instructions (Sleez's post) closely in doing this job yourself or the mods I did may be needed. I installed piecemeal and used the permatex, so pulling the iM off later try to shoehorn the IM and get that aft IM bolt in would have delayed my whole job by needing to pull all off again, cleaning off all permatex, then reinstalling. The cutout wasn't so bad and the fairing covers it, so all I needed to do was spay a bit of paint on the new cuts to avoid future corrosion. All in all, the job was a bit more than I expected for a single afternoon job. Had I spread it out over a couple of days, maybe not as bad, but again follow Sleez's post and you should be fine. I didn't get the part about the aft bolts until I was in the middle of the job. Have not driven yet, letting permatex set up for a 24 hrs. at least to make sure no IM leaks, so don't know reulst yet, but anxious.
