In a previous recent post, I suggested GM take a look at reprogramming MRC with another "function" (call it Drag-Launch Mode):

In 1st and 2 gears, for up to 6-9 seconds from "launch", allow the front shocks to "loosen up" like an 80/20 or 90/10 drag shock for improved weight transfer...which would allow the PTM to be less intrusive. Improved 60' times would result, as well as 330' and 660' times. Then, after 6-9 seconds, the shocks would "firm up ", the nose would settle for aero considerations, and the Top End charge could be at swifter speed...

Why not "all the time"? Because in autoX-type environments, you need a settled nose from the git-go...and autoX utilizes PTM, just like the Ford system was set up for autoX, too...

"saleable" in what way?

drivability? i will agree that the ZL1 is more "drivable" than the gt500, but honestly, drivability is one of the most subjective qualities of a car. take me for example, my mustang has no backseat, very little sound deadening material, M/T ET streets, lopey cams, exhaust that rattles the windows, a driver's seat that i literally have to straddle to get into, and a first gear that lasts all of .2 seconds. the power steering is about to get tossed in favor of a manual rack, and the AC's going in the garbage too. i LOVE driving my car everyday. every trip to the store or work is a frickin blast. i want to hear and feel my car when i drive it. most people would maybe enjoy driving my car every now and then but would find it to be too much work to do so every day. but i'm not most people. my car is perfectly drivable as it is. i see no difference in drivability between my mustang and my wife's focus. one just has more creature comforts. on the other hand, some people don't want to feel like their car is getting shaken apart at a stoplight, they don't like a stiff shifter or a stiff clutch pedal, they don't like the heat or the noise. they should keep their cars bonestock. the thing about the gt500 that i like is that it is SO EXTREMELY refined for what it actually is (a 3800lb 660hp drag car). i could never in my wildest dreams imagine having that much power cruising down the freeway while still being able to have an audible conversation, or being able to take turns at speed when its a little damp outside.

now the ZL1, take everything i said about the gt500 and put more emphasis on the comfort factor. it's a purely amazing example of how comfortable we can make a low 12 sec street car and it's an engineering miracle that they were able to make 4000+lbs accelerate, stop, and turn the way it does. simply amazing. but is it more drivable? depends on what you think makes a car more or less drivable?

does that make any sense at all?

Just askin'...
by commending the ZL1 for it's street manners and impressive performance?

i don't think i could've made the olive branch more obvious.

am i trolling because i prefer the GT500? i'm not sure i follow your logic.

the author of the review that was just posted basically said the same thing i said, that those who prefer a raw driving experience should opt for the shelby and those that want a more sophisticated driving experience should opt for the ZL1. i think it's obvious that i prefer a more raw driving experience.

now had i said, "oh man, the GT500 smoked the ZL1 in the 1/4, it's so sloooow blah blah blah" then ya, i can see how that would be trolling. but the ZL1 is no slouch at all in the 1/4 (and i believe i said that), and there's already multiple reviews that have it outpacing the gt500 on a track.

to answer your question though, i think i'm doing pretty good so far. maybe you don't like my opinion, but that's your issue, not mine.

Also, how'd you get his SN and password? Can I have it? I want to gay up his profile.

Now that it has been confirmed, I wonder if the mods will add a 1LE Forum section to this site. I find myself going to the Camaro section and Z28 section looking for info on the 1LE.

This question was already posed; it's an SS option, therefore you'll find it in amongst the SS threads.

Last I heard they were still deciding on whether or not to give the 1LE it's own section. There's a thread on it in the site suggestion section.

WTF are you smoking? there are 0 models of the Vette that I would consider girl cars and the only models of the Camaro that I might consider girl cars is a V6 base model. If the Vette is a "girl car" as you put it what does that say about every car on the market that it annihilates? Must be pretty humbling to get your a$$ handed to you by a girl car. If thats a girl car and it rips you a new one what does that say about your car?

Not sure the Camaro is any more a girl car than the Mustang, I'd say they attract the same amount of females but yeah, a Corvette is a girls car. Most drivers are hot blondes 'round here and a few gent advancing past middle age. My wife has wanted one ever since she could remember and quite a few of my female aquantances feel the same. Then of course the story from the few male Vette owners about the attention from the female seems to confirm it. It's a girls car, and all the better for it. Met very few women who actually like the look of the Porsche by comparison. My questions to you are; What's wrong with it being a girls car, seems a bonus to me? And b) what so bad about being beat by a girl in a car, are you that insecure in your masculinity that you consider a loss to a woman more humiliating than a loss to a man? A loss is a loss. Heck on the stripe my wife could probably kick my arse as she used to drag race and she got 11 years on me. May have to take her to the track when she gets her new car, sounds like a fun day!!!

Wow, that's some serious Ford trolling.

85% of Corvette owners are men. Fact.

...

69% of Mustang owners are men.

Of that 85% it would be interesting to see how the break down in age looks.

I can't help you guys on the Mustang facts, but here.

Corvette buyers were 86.9% male in 2011.
