Pictures w/ you know the "Yellow Car" from the movie.

My dealer has gotten sooooo much crap over not having my "yellow" car out and on display. They had it parked outside under a carport that's attached to the showroom.
People were asking if the car was sold and why they couldn't sit in it. So while I was away, my wife told them to park it inside and not to let anyone touch it.
I will be picking it up tomorrow. My wife and daughter are talking about a garage sale this weekend.
One idea they had was "Pictures with Bumblebee". You know, just like Pictures with Santa.

Now after reading a lot of threads in the past few weeks, I know what the majority of you will say.
But, I'm a glutin for punishment, so here it is.

Should I allow people to stand next to my new car and have their pictures taken for a nominal fee, say $2-$3 per photo?

It's your car. You can do whatever you want. It's probably legal as long as you don't mention the car or the character or movie name.

"Have your picture taken next to my car!"

Let them figure out what the car represents.

Its a car, but.... Your car was NOT in the film so not sure why you would charge someone for that. I had my last Corvette in 2 Fast 2 Furious and people took photos of it all the time.

Look at it as flattery rather than trying to make money on it. The look on kids faces make it worth the time and the money.

Use the car to get people to come to your garage sale... This is all IMO

this is like selling pirated music from the internet. I really doubt anyone would pay for it anyway. Like Indpowr says use it to draw in business for the sale but don't charge that's kind of, well, lame....

although to be honest...a month or two ago ...i would have gladly payed 3 dollars to sit in the camaro...i mean i payed almost 20 bucks to see it and only that car at the auto show...3 bucks would be a bargain

but considering there are far more camaros out there...but then again i'm lazy and whats 3 dollars...i'll spend that on gas going to another dealership

hell why not give it a shot

Your a greedy man. You should just be happy you are fortunate enough to have the car. yet alone charging people to take a picture with it. Not even a quick ride in the car, just a picture. Wow man.....

First of all, I think that is a bit "illegal." You could probably do it as long as the people standing next to your car imply the car resembles Bumblebee from Transformers The Movie. If I were you, I would just say "$3" for a pic next to my new YELLOW CAMARO! Let the people paying use their imaginations on what that might represent. Last thing you need is Michael Bay suing you.

Sorry to steal your thunder Captain Awesome, but I replied before I read your response.

i don't think you have to worry about being sued because you use the name bumblebee. The odds of someone from the studio seeing or being there is little to noting. Do what you think is right..

Wow... I think people are over-reacting a little with the nasty comments. He was asking an honest question. (Which by the sounds of it was thought up in a pretty innocent manner by his kids... "like a picture with santa")

Althoughhh sounds like the OP Also knew this was coming lol. (so I guess you walked into it.)

Anyways, I people may not pay just to take a pic next to it, cuz they can google all the pic's they want, or wait for you to park it somewhere and snap all the pix their hearts desire.

Sitting in it , may be another story... People will pay for ANYTHING if they can't achieve it without paying for it. (Mcdonalds... prostitution... etc etc)
And all business is established on the grounds of providing what the customer wants in exchange for their $$$. You bought your Camaro didn't you?
So as far as I'm concerned.... if sitting in your camaro, next to your camaro, upside down on top of your camaro or underneath your camaro.... doesn't matter... if you can find customers... go for it. A mutual transaction is really none of anyone elses business.

But as others have mentioned.. be cautious of copyright infringement.

Okay, Okay, I knew I'd open a can of worms over this!
Yes, I was asking a honest question, Thank You Mayhem. This is/was just an idea.
Secondly, I have the first Camaro in the county. Just stating a fact, not bragging. The only other Camaro is sitting at the dealer. Yes, the people here are going nuts over the car. Rightly so, It's an awesome car. Nice job GM! They (the public) are pissed at the dealer for locking it up. People were leaning against the car, scratching it and what ever else people do when they have a blatant disregard for somebody elses property, be it mine or the dealers.
I did pass on the info from Captian Awesome (Thank You) to my wife and daughter about the copyright laws and such. I did realise this. They agreed they they shouldn't use any name or even imply that this a certian yellow movie car. Like I stated, this is/was just an idea for a garage sale. May not even happen.
But, Honestly, Wouldn't you like to make some child happy if you had the opportunity?
I have 3 grandkids, and my youngest (3 yo) saw the car in the bodyshop being painted and started crying because he didn't want to leave.
Lastly, Thank You to all of you who had a positive reply on this thread and Thank You to the rest for you for negative reply as well. Criticism is good if you can learn from it.

you could still make the kids happy by having it in the drive way, and it would be free. if you have it sitting there, and are charging 3 dollars to go look at it and get a picture taken, then how are you going to stop people who didnt pay from going to look at it closer? if they are just looking through the window and you shoo them away, im going to guess that they wouldnt be happy

I would park the Camaro in the driveway to attract people...but wouldn't leave the doors open. Just to attract people. And I wouldn't pay to take a pic with it.
