ZL-1 Hood insert
So i want to get the ZL-1 Hood and I want to go with an authentic hood. While the actual hood itself is fairly priced IMO the hood insert is outrageously priced. Has no aftermarket vendor not started producing an insert for this hood either in carbon fiber, hydro carbon stuff, fake carbon fiber..... anything??????

Welcome to the club the good news is that a company down in South Florida is working on it the price should be around $1000-$1200 from what they said I am sure they will be posting soon about it.

I just checked out the same source I got all my front fascia components from and they have the CF insert for 1,6xx.xx which is cheaper than I remember it being last time I checked but it was not actually available. Who are people actually getting their hoods and inserts from? Free shipping would be even better!!!

If you have the plain insert, emblempros will hydrocoat it in cf pretty reasonably I would think.

Anybody heard anything on the insert? I still don't see them available by GM and haven't heard of an aftermarket insert yet.

I understand the supplier is working overtime just to meet the demand for production. It may be a really hard part to come by unless you have a ZL1 that needs a replacement.

G3 Composites, LLC down in South Florida will be making the insert in real CF but I do not expect to see this done until the end of the year or early next year. The expected price range is $1200-$1500 I have been in contact with them. For now I have decided to buy and aftermarket fiberglass ZL1 hood. Quote:
correct and the prices are out of this world for the parts plus the hood.

Subscribed. I'm looking for an aftermarket Z hood. No way I would pay 4k+ for a hood.
