i have a leaky rear shock and need to replace it. can anyone tell me whats involved to change the rear shock. Car only has 700 miles on it but hate bringing car to dealer for work unless it is absoultly necessary.
Thanks

So you'd rather pay for a strut then take the time to install it, instead of the dealer doing it for free?

If you just want to do it, look in the DIY section and hit the "search this forum" button. Type in lowering springs. There's a good DIY with lots of pics to look at.

that should be under warranty. I know dealers suck, but it should be a free fix.

they are struts in the rear...not too bad, but not quite a quick and easy job to swap, and you should get an alignment done as well. Like Axis posted...just search for spring DIY...same job, you just replace the strut, not the spring.

Replacing the rear shocks isn't terribly difficult if you have the right tools. If the car has 700 miles on it and the shock is leaking I can't imagine how this wouldn't be a warranty issue.

Take it to the dealer and have it replaced, this is one of the perks you get of purchasing a new car!
