Question regarding USB connection port in center console

In past vehicles I've had you could not leave anything plugged into either a usb or cigarette lighter while the car was off as it would keep drawing power.

When I turn the car off - anything connected to the USB (Iphone) dies - but does leaving the cord plugged in continue to draw any power? Or is it safe to leave plugged in?

Thanks for any help

NO it does not.....the plug/usb is dead. so yes, its safe to leave it plugged in, but I wouldn't leave your phone or iPod ON....turn it OFF.

I have an old ipod 30gig video that will only hold a charge for about 30 minutes on its own being as it's at least 5 years old I leave it plugged into my car usb all the time and never have any issues it picks right back up where you were when you shut the car off.
