dip it

Well last night I found myself with a decent amount time on my hands and stumbled upon plasti dip. I'm quite interested in how well it works. All I know is I popped off my tail light bezels and heading to the hardware store in the morning

I picked up a can of plasti dip and sprayed three or 4 coats on my tail light bezels. I'm really happy with how it came out. Not sure why there are only three bezels in the picture. Such an easy mod.

Rainy days don't make the best light to show off black bezels.

A little better view

If I have some down time I think I'll try spraying the RS tag, bowtie, and maybe the camaro on the fenders. If I don't like it, I'll just peel it off.

I love the look without the bowtie. I feel it looks more aggressive. I thought it was going to be a pain in the butt to remove after the grill was installed, but it took me like 25 minutes to do in my pajamas.

Over the weekend I blacked out my rear bowtie and RS emblem. I think it looks great . My girlfriend on the other hand hates it and thinks I am ruining my Camaro, her opinion on my car doesn't matter too much to me though . What does everyone else think?

Remove this, get tiny hands and pop the tabs off the back of the Bowie. May need a little force. Then take the landing plate off.

Yet hanks franklin. And yeah grill on. It was really easy once I got one side loose I just slowly pulled the Bowtie off. Almost scary amounts of force, you have to want to have it off. Then you just unscrew the landing plate. Done.

Night Shift Fun

So again on another night shift I decided I would play around with my car. So I decided that I would paint some of my rims black. I have wanted to paint my rims all balck but I did'nt really feel like messing with taking them off. So I thought why not mask out some of the rim and just paint the spokes. I like how it looks but I think I still want to go full black. Happy Memorial Day.

Oh yeah! I almost forgot! I bought a Corsa cat back exhaust the other day and I'm anxiously waiting for it to get to shipped to me and onto my car.

5/25/12 Corsa Catback

So I had an appointment to get my Corsa Catback installed in the morning at Hartford Muffler and Brake in Johnston RI. Well that morning it decided to rain and it rained hard along with plenty lightning. My car was just about to go onto the lift and the power went out . It couldn’t have been any worse timing. So we waited for a while in hopes that the power would come back on. The owner, Rick, got pretty tired of waiting and actually left to go get his generator from his house so he could power one of the lifts for me. He was probably gone for 5 minutes and the power came back on and he had to turn around.
After all that, the install went fast and I love how it looks and sounds . I was very happy to get rid of those bulky stock mufflers. Rick did a great job.

I went with the 3.5” tips because I originally had plans for the GM ground effects kit, but I’m becoming less attracted to the rear bumper and exhaust bezels on it. So I may see if I can find some 4” tips to fill in the gaps a bit more… I hope.

7/3/12 CAI

Today I got my CAI fromCj0n3s12. He was nice enough to instal it for me too. It really makes my new Corsa exhaust sound so much better .

I also noticed some wonderful oily good stuff (sarcasm) in my stock intake when I took it out.... Good thing I planned on getting a catch can.

7/24/2012

My girlfriend got my a street scene ported lower grill for my birthday so I decided today would be the day I install it. Taking off the fascia was a first for me. It went a little slow. I found the grill was also a bit of a pain in the butt to install. I love how it looks with my heritage grill, it's so much better than stock one. I also installed a carbon fiber wrap for my rear bowtie and hood spear. The vinyl was also a first for me and I wrinkled it a bit so I ordered some more and I'll give it a second shot. It looks great for a distance though.

I did this in the parking lot of my apartment and so many people were looking at me in confusion as I did this install. I guess you don't see people pulling Camaro's apart too often.

It rained shortly after I finished.

I couldn't get a good sunny shot of the bowtie from a distance.

8/1/12- More Black

I ordered some new hood spears for a second try at DIY. It went muuuch better this time, no wrinkles. I also picked up some gills and a carbon fiber RS inlay to match my carbon fiber bowtie.

I also finally plasti-dipped my CAMARO fender emblems. It's so much fun to use.

It came out great.

Looking good at the end of the day . My black cling side markers started warping and looked really bad so I peeled them off. It's still weird for me to see the orange and red, but that will be gone soon enough because I ordered some ghosted LED's from AAC! I just have to keep my cool while they make them. ugh.
