48 and more rain here in WA - will too much rain hurt my Camaro any more than too much sun?

I disagree, I have CGM vinyl stripes on my IOM SS that will be 2 years old in 5 days time. Still look like new after 2 years of Texas heat and sun.

The window film from 3m is called Crystalline. Clear film with the benefit of dark tinted windows. There Webb site has all the info about it. (3m window films) I have tinted windows and clear film on the front. It also cuts down on the glare. I have not used my visors since I installed it. Also I now run the air at lower speeds. Car cools down a lot faster.

Ambient/earth temperatures won't do much for paint. As stated, a car can be baked in a paint booth, and the paint will hold up just fine.

Plastics and vinyl--they start getting soft and may deform.

UV is the killer that causes the drying, cracking, fading.

For interiors, the key is to reflect the sun back out. Use a sunshade for the dash where you can. Crack windows or vent the sunroof so the heat can escape and the car can "breathe". If you seal up a car and leave it in the sun, inside temps can reach 160 degrees and beyond. For the sun belt, a good tint will keep things a little more comfortable. And lighter colors will stay cooler.

For the dude from WA --I hear ya. Seattle has been soggy. Extended periods of rain won't kill paint, but as the concentrations of H2S04 (sulfuric acid) -acid rain, and other particulates grow stronger, a good washing is in order when the sun finally comes out!

Get some ghost armor for the radio face it's like a screen cover for your smart phone can't see it and protects it they awesome well worth it.

The Sun's rays aren't good beating down on ANYTHING! Why would a car's paint be any different? Get a good, quality wax and keep your fingers crossed if you don't own a garage.

My car has 3300 miles on it and the vinyl on the dash is already bubbling. I do not like it at all. I wish they had left the dash alone, I liked the look of my 2010 dash much better.

Not excited about these high temps at all.

Mine came scratched up. My little cousin asked if the car was used because it was so scratched up. It doesn't really bug me though.

I was thinking the same thing.

Untrue. I have had many cars with Vinyl stripes, baring damage from accident or chemicals mine have always lasted several years with no problems. I do not have a garage and my cars always sit outside 24-7/365 and no paint problems. The last car that I had dash problem in was a 88 Fiero, after it was 5 years old.

Funny thing is, I've had my car with vinyl stripes for 2.5 years in the Texas sun and they are doing fine.

I live in Corpus Christi and know your pain on the heat. My suggestion to save the inside is to tint the windows as low as legally possible (which it looks like you have done) and use one of those reflector things that you put in the window when you park. I do and it is amazing what a difference it makes.
