2013 rear view mirror

Anyone have the hookup on ordering a 2013 rear view mirror with backup camera? That throwback mirror is pretty sweet!

I thought the 2013 doesn't have the camera screen since it will use the new in dash screen and that's how they slimmed it down so much. Not sure though

Has anybody tried retrofitting this mirror into the older cars? After seeing this in person the other week I would love to have it in my 2010. It looks TONS better and it much less obtrusive.

If nobody has tried does anybody have an idea who I could talk to about this? I'm sure one of the dealers on this site would be able to help out.

Here is a pic for those that haven't seen it:

It has a bit of an interesting back story too. See below.

From the edmunds article above: "Here’s a shot of the new, frameless rearview mirror that’s standard for the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro 2LT, 2SS and ZL1 coupe and convertible."

If it's like the GM trucks, it will use the mirror if you do not option a touch screen radio.

The frameless mirror does not have a backup camera in it. Heard this from Al O. himself at the Fest.

The backup camera is on the bumper. And if you're referring to the display for the camera, the same is true for the truck line up. The trucks equipped with backup cameras and touch screen radios have mirrors that do not have a display in them. If you opt for the camera and a basic radio, the mirror will have a display.

I have done no research on the matter and do not claim this to be the case. But the availability of a frameless mirror does not necessarily mean that you have to have a touchscreen radio for a backup camera.

I've been looking for a 2013 frame less with no luck. If anyone finds it please let me know. If I can't find one I'm thinking of permanently removing mine as I have a rear view camera.

I bought a frameless mirror on E-bay and hooked it up.
Good things:
-it has the same clamp to mount, so it can be mounted on the older windshields with no mods, it's bolt on
Not so good things :
-the electrical connection is not the same , making it useless(OnStar &auto-dimming),different pins but the connector is the same.
-it has the wire hanging from the support to the mirror(even though isn't visible that's just not right).
-the old model had the plastic cover for wires bolting on the mirror's arm, this one has a slightly different arm and it is not bolt on , but it can be adjusted.
Bottom line:
If you want the looks and don't drive too much in the night time or don't use OnStar(like me) , buy it.
I may sell mine because I drive one hour everyday in the night time .
Today or tomorrow I will meet somebody who has three frameless mirrors for sale and he said he knows how to hook up the new one and make it work .If it's true , and works will keep you posted guys.

Finally I made it...it works after installing it like it's described in another thread.
