Unhappy IPOD Songs randonly skip in ZL1

I routinely hook up my IPOD classic to the jack in the console of my ZL1 and have noticed that occasionally while listening to a song the car stereo advances the player to the next song. I have eliminated it being related to my IPOD by using my son's IPOD Touch. It does the same thing. I know I am not accidentally hitting the steering wheel stereo controls. It happens once ~2 hours of play. Is there a firmware upgrade for this? Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I haven't encountered any issues and I use my iPhone just about every day. I would have your dealer check it out under warranty.

What version of PDIM does your ZL1 have? With the iPod plugged in, press and hold the Menu button till you see the software/hardware version display on the radio LCD

slick rick - I tried to do what you said, but no version info ever shows. I tried different ignition key conditions and nothing worked. Nothing shows on either the IPOD or the LCD radio display (except the name of the song/artist playing. What am I doing wrong?

After pressing and holding down the radio "Menu" button, it displayed the HW and SW ID. Both the SW ID and the HW ID were "DB"

Glad to see you guys post about having Ipod issues but sorry your having problems like me too. I also have Ipod thru the USB jack problems. First few days I had the car all the controls thru the radio and steering wheel worked great to control ipod and switch songs. Then after a few days the control became very slow (took like 3 seconds after pressing the button to change songs on the steering wheel or radio directly) before the song would change. Now it wont change songs at all. At the this point the ipod will play music when connected thru the USB but the only way to select or change songs is to go into the ipod menu on the radio and scroll through the song list. I also have Ipod controls in my truck and the Ipod still works flawless in there so I am now suspecting the radio in the ZL-1 has some problems.

Only time we have had an issue is when the case on the iPhone prevented the cable from being 100% properly plugged in.

I am sorry to hear of this issue you may be experiencing. Have you been able to get to the dealership for a diagnosis? Please feel free to send me any details concerning this issue.

I have had issues with my ipod randomly not being detected or simply playing a song then all of a sudden it switches back to x m radio. Usually, unplugging and plugging it back in works but I have not been able to get mine to work/get detected for over 2 weeks now!? I have been out of warranty for a least a year so I don't know what to do now. Grrrr.

When are you going to fix the static noise when using the apple products. I have 2012 SS with less than 5000 miles

I have a zune and it too will sometimes skip a song. I will see a song title in the HUD and then it moves on to the next one and plays it. Once it was just scrolling through songs not palying any. I selected FM and then back to the PFD and then it started playing from the zune.

My iPod has been skipping to the next song on its own since I got it. Both at home and in the car.

Furthermore my Pause button has never worked. Maybe if I hit it 20 times it will pause, but usually not.

I must've gotten a lemon. Camaro Fred and I might have to get new iPods while they're still making them. (I love mine, despite its quirks.)
