I would really like to get an aftermarket exhaust for my 12 LFX, will it void the cars warrenty also i was wondering if an axle back or cat back will make a difference.

Gman, aftermarket exhaust will not void warranty in most cases. Only if Gm can actually proove that you messed up your engine directly as a result of the exhaust upgrade, which is very unlikely and rare. Cat-back is more expensive because they include more pipe, and it does give u good sound + a bit better performance that just the axle-back (basically the mufflers).

Solo, Corsa, Borla, Magna, Flowmasters, etc., are very popular with Camaro owners, and there are threads on these.

Check out : www.apex-speed.com, and look under Camaro 2012 exhaust. Apex is a forum sponsor and Chase is usually here and can give u great advice.

You are reversed, axle back is just the rear mufflers, cat back is from the front... Corsa for cat back and MRT v2 for the axle back

I've listened to alot of MRT v2 but how loud will it be in person, because on alot of videos i cant really tell becasue sound quailty isnt the best since the person shoves the camera up the exhaust.
also I was on the chevy accessory site and they have an axle back system like the GM proformance exhaust, is that any good.

Corsa has the best sound in my opinion. MRT is fine , not too loud but good sound. GM mufflers are expensive , made by Borla I think.

Thanlks for correction Sky.

yes, the GM system is made by Borla. It's good, but pricey. THe MRT V2 is one of the most used and loved by v6 owners, and nice price as well. The Dynomax VT is also getting lots of attention---good sound, and very affordable. Can't go wrong with either of them.

Yep, no issues at all. As a matter of fact I checked with my dealer yesterday, and they install it for $90, and backed by GM. It's a good system, and although u pay little bit more, u do get the GM warranty peace of mind. If you can afford it, go for it.

The sound will defenitely improve---paired with a cold air intake like Roto-Fab or Cold Air Inductions kit, you'll have nice growl.

No pblm. In general, upgrading ur cold air intake does not void warranty. Asked this to my dealer and they confirmed this. However, there are a few dealers that will not work on car claiming its not under warranty, but its BS. A good cold air intake is known to improve performance, and they know it. Everyone gets one pretty much. They def improve the sound of car quite a bit and improve mpg a bit as well.
