MyLink in a convertible. Sun glare?

Hello all, new to the forums.

Been driving a 94 v6 camaro for the last 8 years and well, happy to say I'll own number 3763 of the new 2013 camaros

When I found out that the new 2013s had the mylink touch screen I got nervous. My camaro is a 2LT RS convertible and I'm some what afraid of what the glare would be like on that system if there is any at all.

I know on other models that have mylink for chevy they are under a "canopy" of sorts and as seen in recent videos, there is no canopy on this one.

Anyone know anything about the "glare issue" or lack there of?

Id imagine if you have your top down parked somewhere that the sun would damage the screen? Not sure but it seems like it would

Well thats another thought I don't want to think about lol. Guess I'm more concerned about the gun glare though.

Anyone got any clue? Rather worried about this. I guess I'm already in that "too late" area but peace of mind is priceless

My garmin has no issues, the screen doesnt glare, would think they would use the same stuff on these. If not you can get non glare covers for the screen cheaply.

Also cant think of anything the sun would do to the unit unless it got hot enough to melt plastic, and if that happens, your dash is mate out of the stuff so.......

You drive a convertible? Thanks for the info! Any clue about this question?

If i leave the top down outside will it burn out the screen? Assume the car is off and the display is off as well.
