I have a 1LT RS and i've had mine up to 130 mph .. that is coming down the on ramp to the HWY and i had pedal left . i backed off because i didnt want to get a huge ticket! i looked over my shoulder for 3 days after that .. i need my license to do my job it was fun but very stupid ... i'll only do that again in the track

Did 130 on a 'closed track' and had it upto 148 on the Dyno.

when i hit 118, i get the speed limiter message or whatever. but I had it do 120 before going down a hill lol.

i went about 137 in the m6 and i was only in 5th gear, traction control active poped up a few times so i slowed down.

Since the LS is speed limited at 118 because of the tires did you get the dealer to re tune it for different tires? I tried to get my dealer to do it and they couldnt figure it out.

I'm still running my stock tires. The reason the speed limiter is off is because I have a Trifecta Tune.

Ive gotten my auto 6 to 118 and the middle gauge says "Electronically limited to 118" it doesnt shut off or anything

Yes.........But I would never admit to any speed over 70 mph (on any forum) unless it was done on a track.

Every single LS made is limited to 118mph because of the tire rating. If you have stock tires, the rating for those is 118. You could very well blow out all your tires going past that rating because they are not made for speeds higher then 118.

I have an LT and it came with BF Goodrich tires. Those aren't considered stock are they or does Checy put a cheaper tire on the LS?

If yours are 18" rims, then they have the same tires as the LS.
