Damn that blows & sucks at the same time. Hope they get it straightened out & it was just a bunch of flukes at the same time. But I am definitely alittle nervous now. The oil pump went out on my SS with 2400 miles, but I thought that was a fluke also.not.

Chevy will make it right. I'm actually impressed with the clean shop and how fast they are on it for you. Don't sweat the clutch, that's really nothing. Your car has character, it told you early on its not right and needs you to fix a couple of things. Stay positive, no matter how it looks now, it will always be a ZL1!

Sorry to hear your situation. Unfortunately, getting an EXACT replacement MY 12 probably won't happen. I wouldn't be very happy either. I hope GM corrects your problem. Good luck.

I am very interested and the service tech working on the car would be interested as well to know if that wiring harness is intentionally placed in the location mine was or if it really was a fluke. So if any ZL1 owners feel like getting underneath their car, please report back.

The service technician that's working on my ZL1 seems to be going the extra mile in getting this car back to "new". My trust in production GM cars; however, has taken a pretty big hit unfortunately. In the brief chat I had with customer service, I was offered a year's worth of tire rotations and oil changes on a vehicle whose tires cannot be rotated and oil that lasts the better part of an entire year.

I would definatly let them keep it , they would have to replace too much to be like new again. I thought Chevy had the love it or leave it guarantee. Order a 2013 ZL1.

At least there is a little humor in the night.

Thanks for posting all of this information. I do not have a ZL1 but am very concerned about this. I would also forward this thread, and photos, to the appropriate GM contacts.

Also, I believe there is a GM Customer Service rep(s) that sometimes monitor these threads, you should be able to search/find them and also forward them some information. The more you get this out, the more likely you will get the issue corrected to your satisfaction.

I hope this gets resolved so you are fully satisfied with the car, as it should have been from day 1.

My first 2010 2SS was very slow, many L99's were having the same problem. The V6's were going faster then the V-8's. I took it to the dealer 4 times and they kept saying nothing was wrong with it. I had another on order coming in a month so instead of fighting it I would sell it. Later on we all found out it was a GM defect which required a fuse pull to reset the computer for premium gas. I picked my 2nd 2010 a month later and on the 4 hour drive home the power steering pump blew up! Sprayed fluid all over!

So, I understand how you feel. SORRY!

The oil problem looks like rear main seal to me. I know they are tricky to replace without having a leak. They have a very tight tolerance. The wiring issue is interesting and something i'm sure people will be checking now. If it is widespread I wouldn't be surprised if a tsb gets sent out on it. Good luck.

Oh man, that sucks man....I'm actually concerned about my car, it #1567 just a few cars older than yours. I think they were built the same week. I'm still under 1500 so I'm taking it easy just wondering if I'm going to run into the same issue :(.
