Shorties make a little to no power ( trust me, I've had some before; the cats are the biggest restriction). Go long-tubes. You won't regret it.

Long tubes are the way to go. Borla makes good exhaust systems but there are better headers to be had. I would recommend taking a look at ARH, Stainless Works, or Stainless Power if you want to save some money.

If you were to change your cats to HF cats if you were to do shorties you'll probably see some gains. You would see more with LTs though.

The restriction in the exhaust is mostly in the cats more than the stock exhaust manifolds.

Go shorties and HF cats if you want do do something without tuning your car. If you're okay with tuning then spend your money on LTs.

I would suggest LG Motorsports' long tube headers. Forget the shorties.

They include everything needed for installation, however, I do recommend swinging by you local Chevy dealer and picking up a new set of header gaskets rather than using the supplied sealant. Actually, there is no reason we can't save you the trip and just add them to your order if you like. All hardware is included as is O2 extensions and high flow cats.

I have Stainless Works headers and they are great! I'm pretty sure that Stainless Power are very similar ecause they are made by SW, but don't take my word for it.

I'm surprised that no one seems to make mid-length headers for the Camaro like Kooks does for the G8. ... kinda the best of both the shorty & the long-tube together in my mind.

You get the hi-flow cat and it mates right up to any catback so no worries about scraping the cats on LT's over speed bumps, etc.
