Road Trip/Texas weather: Results (just sharing)
We live just west of Houston Tx. We left out last Thursday around 4 p.m headed west to San Antonio on I-10. It was raining at the time as it had been for most of the week. The rain continued for most of the trip until just outside of San Antonio. As previous experience has shown with this car, no water issues what so ever.
Woke up Friday morning in San Antonio to clear skies. That changed around noon when storms moved into the area. Those storms moved out and clear skies returned. We left San Antonio around 6 that evening and headed north on I-35 to Dallas. Shortly after leaving San Antonio the rain started back up, and continued mostly all the way to Austin. Again, no water issues with the top. Fast forward to Sunday (yesterday) afternoon leaving Dallas to head back to Houston and storms rolled in again. Very strong winds and extremely hard rains came down for about two hours of the drive. Again, not one single water issue. After reading this, some may say "big whoop", "what's the point". Well, there isn't really a point I just wanted to let other vert owners know that not ALL tops have issues, regardless of build date. And that the 'fixes' GM has put out there do work, if done right. Observations: The wind noise is more than expected. MPG was 17.1 (per the DIC) And for the cynics, those saying to themselves "just wait.." or "it will leak eventually", you may be right.... only time will tell. Thanks for letting me share. |
