2012 bluetooth voice navi - Android

i previously owned a windows phone 7, which would answer calls and read/send text messages to me over bluetooth in my camaro. that phone did not have turn by turn directions, but my new galaxy s3 on android does.

i can only get my android to allow phone calls over bluetooth in my camaro. i cannot get the audio text messaging like my windows phone, and more annoyingly, i cannot get the voice navigation to read through my camaro's speakers.

is there some setting to change this on either the car or android? it seems like anything on your phone would communicate via bluetooth once bluetooth was enabled. thanks for any help.

I haven't figured it out yet, but haven't spent much time on it either. I have a droid razr. I'll try to spend some time working on it this weekend.

I think you have to pair it under GM Music Connect and not the phone to hear that. Ill check when I get home

Yup. You have to connect through gm connect.

How do you connect through GM connect? Will the phone still work too?

For the GM Music Connect option, plug something into USB port (if you have one) hit the menu button on the radio, and go to bluetooth. Pair the device from there and it should create the second connection. My Droid Bionic seems to connect to both the phone connection and the music connection, and will drop the music if I get a call. unfortunately, it usually doesn't re-connect without help. Also, if you are using the music connection solely for navigation, you may have issues with dropping the connection. My solution is to run Pandora, or stream music on the phone over bluetooth to keep it connected.

so there is no way to keep it continually connected? if i leave my car now, my phone auto pairs when i get back in the car. i'd like it to do the same for navi and texting aloud as well...
