Bought another Camaro race car today

It's a 1st Gen but thought most of you would like it anyway. We got a smoking deal on this one and it's track ready. Full chassis car running a 427 ci small block. Has been running 5.60s in 1/8 th mile.

It's getting delivered today. Excited to get to try this one out. It's our first door slammer chassis car. We've had a chassis car before but it was a roadster.

We are going to make a few cosmetic changes but that's about it. Going to change the snorkel hood over to a 4" cowl hood and add some light silver or white stripes.

Thanks...

The car should making it home any time now. Unfortunately I'm going to be out this afternoon so it will probably be tomorrow evening before I get to see it up close. My dad is the one that found it and went look at it. Once he showed me the pics, told me the price along with all the extras that comes with it I was in.

We've been trying like hell to get our other Camaro into the 5's and just can't get there. 6.10s is about all we've been able to get. It's too heavy. It is all metal with solid glass and all. We just didn't want to take apart a true '67 RS/SS 327 4 spd Camaro. It's still at a point right now that we could put it back together for street use.

However, you can see the hood and basic stripes we want to put on the new one. I like the blue better than the gray but the gray will still look good with some stripes to set off the color.

Here is our current Camaro....which isn't going anywhere. It'll be a back up car for now.

A few more pics and info in case anyone is intrested.

427 ci - 18 degree - Reher Morrison small block

It's run a best of 5.29 in the 1/8th but typically runs in the mid 5.30s.

We'll problaby be taking the car out this weekend for a try out. I'll be taking my 5th Gen as well. Only costs $5 more to race so I might as well have a little fun with the street cars. The more seat time the better.

Everyone of those cars under the covers are 1st Gen Camaros. My family has pretty much been a Camaro only for show/race cars. However, my first race car was a '65 Nova. Just happend to fall into our hands. The blue one shown above we've owned/raced since 1983. The convertible in my sig is one I've had since 1985.

This new Camaro makes 7 1st Gens (between me, my dad, and my brother) and then my 5th Gen. 8 total and it's getting to the point where we are out of room.

Took both the new '67 and the 2010 out on Friday night. Weather was crap....high humidity (it had just rained within a couple hours of us getting there) and temps were mid to high 80's.

The best I could get out of the 2010 was 8.41 on street tires.

The '67 ran a 5.50 on the first pass but by the time the night was over it went a 5.38 at around 128 mph. Can't remember the mph for sure.
