For those of you who are contemplating this, do it!
If you ask anybody in the GTO community what the number 1 mod to do is, it would be 3.91s.
I have 3,46s and Some of the guys in our club have 3,91s. you do not want to run them from a roll.
I'd like to say they walk away from my car, but it is more of a jog/ run. LOL!
And I'm comparing stock for stock.

I will go out on a limb and say that 3.91s feel like you added about 40 hp.
Some may flame me for that but that's my belief.

On the waiting list! Does anyone know where I can find the all the torque, pinion depth, bearing pre-load and backlash specs on how to set it up? I'm having a friend of mine do it so I want to make sure I have all that for him.

Oh and what are you guys doing for set up bearings? Are you using the old ones for this and installing a new set after?

No reason not to use your old ones. They last a long time

Has anyone bought and installed the list obtained from this thread? I was thinking about trading my camaro in for a 1LE or even a ZL1, but if i can install these parts and get close to the feel of the 1LE, I would be happy.

Would I need this whole list for a 2010 Camaro minus the rims?

You either need the differential or heard, and only one set of sways and links, either 1LE or ZL1.

You need 2012 Lower Control Arms too. After all of this the only real difference is the trans and electric assist steering.

OK i don't know anything about installing gears or anything of that nature. How much would it cost for the entire process to get these gears. I'm talking gears, pro install ect ect. I want these bad!

The axles are stronger, and fit... but you have to swap out the hub (knuckle) to do so. The 1LE/ZL1 hub is bigger.

There is a ton of good information contained in the thread about that very subject.
No one has gotten the whole assembly yet that I am aware of. Maureen from Rogers Chevrolet has a waiting list for the gears which are currently on backorder.

Do you know this for a fact or are you just guessing? Because the new hubs go on all for and not just the rears. They list as a rear hub, but come up on the fronts as well. They have larger bearings to deal with the increased loads put on them during road racing. Untill someone gets a 1LE or their hands on a set of half shafts I wouldn't speculate. With the price they want for one of those hubs, I don't think anyone will be buying a set anytime soon.

Rear Lower Control Arm(2) 20942237
I started a thread in the suspension section asking this, but maybe I'll get more responses here. The rear lower control arms are fairly "cheap" at under $40 each. I'm installing the Pedders Solution B sway bar kit & Street 1 kit on my 2010 "SS". Would I benefit from upgrading to the 2012 rear lower control arms? I know GM improved the design, but would I be opening a can of worms?

After looking at the posted list, I'll have upgraded my OE suspension parts to Pedders or better/improved GM parts so I should have the handling characteristics of the 1LE

And thanks for posting the part number for the rear lower control arms toehead93.

Most shops charge $600-800 for a gear install, so that plus roughly $300 for the gears? I may be missing something though.

Unless you get the newer style sway bars to go with the newer arms you will see zero benefit running newer arms with the old style sways.

The new LCAs are much better than the 2010 LCAs. They move the endlink connection point for the swaybars outside of the strut instead of inside of the strut. This is why the new sway bars are more efficient at what they do!

So if I do go with the 2012 rear lower control arms (which I'd like to), all I'd have to do is change "its for a 2010 Camaro" to Its for a 2012 Camaro". My order still hasn't shipped out, so just maybe I can!
