How do you remove center air vent bezel on a 2012

I have found a thread on how to remove every bezel part on the interior, but have not seen how to remove the air vent bezel on a 2012 camaro. I did read that the small bezel on the 2010/11 can not be remove unless you take the dash out? Is this true for the 12 too and either way anyone have photos/video/write up on how to take it out?

Its very easy to do First pull the long strip on the dash off. Then remove the 6 7mm bolts underneath it. Next lift the Shifter surround (piece with the tray/gauges) out of the way. Next, Remove the 2 bolts for the radio. Next remove the upper 2 7mm bolts behind radio. Then just pop off the leather trim section and the unbolt AC vent from that. And finally unclip the trim from vents. and reinstall in reverse order and you get.....this painted mine Matte Black

Thanks, it was a lot of work. I have never done this before but my two best friends in the project where the plastic trim tools to take it apart and camaro5 for the DIY threads. The alpine set up was so easy too. All but the part where I had to sit in the car for 8 minutes paying angry birds waiting for the computer to go into sleep mode. That when I lost the new car smell!

I have heard to get to the 201-11 center air vent you have to remove the whole dash. Some have just taped off the vent and painted it in the car so they don't has to remove he whole dash.

Correct. Because the 2010 and 2011's air vent is built into the dash, the only way to gain access to it is to remove the entire dash.

From their it is three 7mm bolts that hold the vent in place. When you're there you'll see what I mean. Once you undo those screws you can just pull the plastic vent and the trim out.

For the center trim I kind of cheated. I just taped off the dash and hand painted it. Used a really fine artists brush. You can't even tell unless you're right there looking at it.

It is the Alpine system W910 with the Alpine Perfect Fit dash kit too. Everything is touch screen. Alpine had a cord included for my iPhone that not only charges my phone, but gives me full access to it too. I purchased the items from Creative Audio in Springfield, MO. They shipped it next day and have the best customer service ever! I had a problem with the touch screen on the dash kit. They sent me a new one with no questions asked. I installed everything myself.

The only two problems I have seen with this set up are - I can not use my AUX cord in the arm rest of the car and I can not lock or unlock my car with the key from a great distance anymore. Alpine has a great set up for my iphone so I dont miss the AUX at all! I have no idea what the deal is with the key less entry

The shifter is a DefenderWorx Shift Knob. You can get on almost any camaro accessories web site for around 200 dollars.
