First time at the track with my 2012 SS

I can definitly tell you I need to learn how to launch a manual. Coming from an auto LS1 I sure is a lot easier racing an auto. Any how on to me results....

Best time:

60Ft: 2.386
1/4 Mile: 13.81 @ 106.30

A bit disappointed by I know I'm new and need more seat time. This is with all grannys turned off launching at 3K RPM. My buddy still doesnt believe me these cars can run 13 flat stock.

Why doesn't your buddy believe they can run 13 flat?

I ran 13.11 @ 109.16MPH 100% stock a few weeks ago. 2200DA..

Practice the launch and you'll lower that time more... 2.3 60' is terrible. Try lowering the air pressure a little bit and when you're launching dont just side-step the clutch...you might need to slip it a little bit in order to get some good traction.

Good luck!

Is there a thread that teaches you how to launch? I'm launching in competitive mode at 3000RPM and I'm getting a lot of tire spin. I know there must be some clutch tricks I'm just not aware since I'm a complete beginner

When I let out the clutch slowly the tires spin, like a burnout almost. When I drop the clutch I hear a super loud chirp, the tires spin, then the car launches...Do I want to be somewhere inbetween?

Here's a link to a drag tutorial. There's a lot of good information here, even though it mostly shows corvettes, the basics still apply. The biggest thing for me was listening to the way he launches; perfect balance of throttle/clutch/spin. It just takes a lot of practice.
If you can lower that 60' time down to a 2.0, you will be down around 13.3, which isn't too bad this time of year. In good air and a good launch, should be 13 flat. Really good 60' times are possible in stock cars on stock tires. My best completely stock was a 1.87, so don't give up. Keep trying.

Hope this helps.
