Roto Fab CAI & Intercooler bottle

I installed the CAI last week and the intercooler bottle yesterday.

CAI - looks awesome. Saves weight. The exhaust is a bit louder and when you accelerate hard it sounds like a dive bomber. It has more power (they say +20hp without the tune) and quicker throtle response. I did not tune it. The engine light never came on. The engine hesitated a bit when accelerating at low rpm's during the first two days but the computer learned the patterns and it works great now. I love it.

Intercooler bottle - works great. It's easy to install, allows you to move the intercooler hose from the front to the side and it really cools the liquid. It adds 1 gallon of fluid into the system. I wrapped the hose with Thermo Tec insulating tape and I drove it pretty hard today for about 40min. I opened the hood, I put my hand on the intercooler hose that is not insulated and it was warm but not hot! I did not feel the heat drain at all....big difference from before. The temperatures outside were in the 80's versus the 90's before(when I had big heat drain issues) but I'm sure the bottle is a major factor in cooling the supercharger effectively. If you don't track it I'd say it's more than adequate and when you consider the low investment it's a must have.

I bought both from Tim at T&T performance and he was great. Gave me a better price than the manufacturer(go figure...), a lot of instructions and he really knows his stuff. He owns a ZL1 so he knows what he's talking about.

Now the pictures:

You could email Tim at tandtperformance for pricing. His info is in the message above. Ibought both together so individual pricing might be different...I'm not selling them so I don't want to get into it.

I got rid of the wiper bottle. It,s a tight fit with it and I think it,s useless anyway. I only drive if it doesn',t rain and I'll park it in the winter. Plus the bottle is huge, probably 2 gal which is extra weight and also blocks the airflow (even though the compartment where the filter goes is pretty much sealed with the shield that goes under the car and the air tunnel for the brakes...theres no air coming directly from outside. I don't want to start cutting into the plastics...
Tthe extra space without the bottle certainly helps...

I did NOT tune it.

testing it yesterday in 90F weather provided similar results for the intercooler. The hoses were almost hot (vs. just warm in 80F) but the power loss was almost imperceptible. Now if I turned the AC on though, I could feel a significant difference...I'm not sure how much power the AC drains but I'd say at least 20hp. So if you plan to ace it don't turn on the AC!
