Turn by Turn Navigation Hack?

I was speaking to a friend who works in Afganistan, and he said they had a turn by turn navigation hack for some of their trucks. Not sure what kind, assuming a Tahoe or something....but anyways it got me thinking, is there any way to send maps to the camaro through IPHONE app, or otherwise without ON STAR?

On Star is such a rip off, I refuse to pay 29.99 a month to use it. When almost all other manfacturers have a service free navi system.....

You mean one that you need to update every year for 2-500 dollars?

Use your phones navigation system if it has it and plug it into your auxiliary or usb connection. should work about the same if you play music etc.

I think "one that you can update every year for free to $500" is a more accurate statement. It's not as if the nav units stop working because you don't have the latest map database installed.
