LLT Upgrade Battle plans

Ok, I am a big fan of all the information that I read here on the the Forced Induction thread. But I want to start up a conversation with you all about the best course of action on my upgrading my LLT.

1. I don't have unlimited funds. So the best use of money should be considered.

2. I don't want a system that sacrifices performace for relyability.

3. I want more than Stock L99 power.

So guys I know people in Hell want ice water too but what do you guys think of my plan.

Mace Cam shafts $1500.00 ,

with an RX Supercharger $7000.00,

Long Tube headers. $600.00

Update to my Trifecta $100 - $200

Install cost. My best guess $3000.00

Total $ 12,300.00

Damn, that turned out bigger than I thought.

So are there any misteps in this plan?

Ya you will probably need some suspension upgrades as well to handle all that extra power

11,300 sounds like endless funds lol

Cams. We are not certain if FI + cams is to much

Other then cams I have the rest on your list and ran a 13.12 in the 1/4 mile if that helps sir

My "to do" list still includes:
1. LSD diff with 3.45 gears
2. Front/ rear sways w/ end links
3. Toe rodes
4. Cradle bushings

I already have a Trifecta tune, so maybe there would be a price brake instead of an additional cost.

I do not plan on racing, but random displays of horsepower is not out of the question.

I felt that the Cam's would be a great starting point, good HP gains for the money, and then, a upgrade to the RX supercharger once the High pressure fuel pump issues is ironed out would be next. I would hope the two together cams and SC would have gains simular to the twin turbo setup.

I thought this was going to be one of the "I want to be fast than an SS and have $1,000" thread. Honestly I'd ditch the cams unless you really want the extra power/sound. The stock pulley can keep up with a stock SS and the OD pulley with a meth kit will likely be able to easily take an SS (drivers being equal).

Should take a little out of the price if you already have Trifecta.

Mace has already stated that their cam's will be compatible with turbo's. So I'm guessing SC's will be almost the same. They will also offer custom grinds for specific builds and needs. So an extra 50-70rwhp can be had, but the HPFP or Meth will have to be a must. Also don't forget that Tracy is restarting his cam project again. I was going to get a MACE cam and have Tracy install it. But I'll wait for his!

Yes we deduct a portion if you already have the trifecta cable, and the only real extras you would want would be the iceolator and the CNC ported VMax TB so your still looking at app $7k for all you need to run quicker than a L99. Rear diff/axles/hubs upgrade adds a bit, and then the stall converter as well.

With CAMs now available I think you can get to SS performance via either NA or FI routes. Either way you will probably want to do some suspension and tire upgrades.

For NA do the CAMs and all the bolt ons.

For FI on a street car then SC or turbo would be the route. SC will not have the low-end power that turbo does and both shouldn't affect mileage very much.

I'm running a little experiment right now to see what my mpg is. I drive 22 miles round trip every day for work. I just got gas not too long ago and reset my est. mpg and trip. Currently at 17.2 mpg, but this is driving conservative. All of the driving is 100% city driving and probably about 8-10 stop lights. I'm pretty surprised considering stock it's esitmated at 18 mpg city.

$2,000 for labor for all of that might not cover it... depending on what route you go... it could be $2,000 for cams alone.... Cams are going to be very labor intensive...

I don't think it is NEEDED. However I would highly suggest it. I've had the front brembo set for two years now and it was an amazing upgrade and I'm sure glad I did it now that I'm super charged.

All I have to say is that I pray somebody here does an all out N/A build. I'm talking cams, LT headers, ported intake manifold, manifold insulator, and of course cold air intake/tune/exhaust. Maybe even port the heads since you'll be into them anyways.

I think this could make for some hella competition with an L99.

I want to see this so bad lol.

Me too, honestly I prefer a N/A motor. If I had cam options a month or two ago I probably would have held off of the super charger..

OP.. Honestly for 11k you can easily trade up to a SS and still have play money left over. Just get an SS.

This won't be suitable for everyone. You'll need headers, tune, and cam's to get in the upper 400rwhp. A nice cam would run atleast 2k.

Ok, I would upgrade to an SS but for a couple things, I love my car. I want to make it better and not git rid of it.

Even if I did get an SS, I would probably be doing the same thing to it. If it was a matter of getting a fast car I could get a pretty fast used car cheaper than the upgrades to this car.

I do not suffer from SS envy, now if I could wave a magic wand and poof my car is a SS I would not complain. I do suffer from a great deal of RS envy, would love to add all the RS elements to my car.

Fortunately I already have the Black Isolator, and Vmax ported TB. I have a Catch Can but I would need to swap it out for the FI version. Don't need a stall converter as I have a manual, but perhaps a clutch upgrade. Not sure how the current stock clutch will hold up to a power increase of this proportion.

those are my plans man. but i want to finish my exterior first.
i dont see the need to go FI with all those mods that should be plenty power for me IMO . what do you think the RWHP would be with everything ?
