I also ordered a car from Ed Cerepak at Putnam, who committed GMS pricing to me back in October.
Last I heard, my car was at 3300. I tried to reach him today for information, but was unable to. I plan to call the General Manager or Owner at Putnam over the next couple days to find out whats going on. |

Good luck Aaron, im absolutely certain they will NOT be honoring your agreement for GMS if they wouldnt honor Saving41's agreement for MSRP. If I were you, I would cancel my order and go somewhere else now and save yourself the heart break of having to see someone else driving off with your car.

Well, hopefully Greg (Savings41) has a pleasant experience with the new dealer. If so, I think a lot more people will be going through the same one.

Dude seriously cancel that order and move on. They have shown there true colors with other members here . You'll wait all these months then u can bank there gona jack the price on you. Why put yourself through that hell. Move on..

Everybody Please keep us up to date with your experience with Putnam and Ed. I think there are about 27 of us and I also cannot get a call back. If anyone else finds a Bay Area dealer with allocation at MSRP let us know.

I can't wait to see the fallout w/ this dealership after all the bad publicity that's about to be handed to them! I hope the news crews DO decide to do an investigative story on them and we get to watch their faces go red in shame & embarassment. Oh, the wrath I would unleash if this were to happen to me w/ my dealer!

I'm going to get in touch with the folks at Putnam. I expect them to fulfill their price quote to me.
If they don't, I won't go and do anything illegal. I'll simply sue them for my deposit, my time, and any profit that they made on the vehicle over the price that was committed to me. I'll also file complaints with the BBB, Chamber of Commerce, GM, and anyone else I can think of. I generally don't get mad. I get even. |

Well,
I just got back from Boardwalk Chevrolet in Redwood City, and placed another order for my 1SS (thx again mindz). The very same deal that I thought I had with Putnam. I was treated very well by the sales staff. I know that I will have to start my wait period again...but overall there wasn't much else I could do to get the car I wanted. I really think many of you will get your cars at the agreed upon price. Most likely because the availability of the Camaro should bring the demand down. Maybe you can even market adjust your deal down to reflect that fact. It would be hard for me to cancel my order if I was in any of your positions, even after the crappy experience I just had. Now if I could transfer my sold order to a different dealer (which I believe is not possible), this would have been a better option. If I were a new car buyer, I would never consider patronizing this establishment. Anyway, Good luck to you all! Thanks again for all the help and support! |

OK! So, my girlfriend, NikkiCamaro, put her order in with Ed at Putnam back in April, and we were told that we would be getting MSRP.
After talking to a couple lawyer buddies of ours, we got a bit of advice, and basically this could go in a few different directions. We're still thinking over how we should deal with it, but I think we are going to write something up, confirming our agreement of MSRP to send to the dealership. Besides the MSRP issue, I feel as if we have been getting the runaround from Putnam since we put our order in back in April. We're apparently still at 1100, even after some very vague language he used to describe our order status a few weeks ago. We hear basically nothing from him, and whenever we do email him, which is maybe once every two weeks or so, we get a very vague, response, usually no longer than a few words. I'm beginning to wonder if he even intends on selling us the car, or if he is just taking us for a ride. This is really unfortunate, because Ed was really nice to us when we went in and made our order. After hearing about Saving41's ordeal, I am getting really concerned. I would suggest emailing Putnam and confirming MSRP for anyone who ordered from him. I think that we are going to talk to them this weekend for some clarity, maybe even head down there tomorrow or Monday, to see if we are wasting our time. Also, apparently, there are a few other legal tricks we could pull if things go bad, so I'll keep track of this thread. |

I can't at this time, but the folks that have the orders in should be less worried about delivery of their cars. The members here and a few people stood up for a person they did not know, and delivered a message that
was loud and clear...and to this point I am satisfied. What I can say is THANK YOU ALL!!!!
