DynoTech driveshafts from Gforce

I'd like to share some info about the driveshafts we've been testing and selling.

We got together with DynoTech driveshafts last year at SEMA and decided to work together to bring a high end, well designed driveshaft to market for the new Camaro's.

After months of testing and then the introduction of the shafts with our 9" kits, we are proud to say we have an excellent driveshaft for the 5th gen Camaro.
We have several OEM replacement shafts out on the road as test subjects and countless shafts that we have sold with our 9" kits.

A little background info about DynoTech driveshafts,

They have been making high quality driveshafts for years. The parent company that owns DynoTech makes high speed driveshaft balance machines and DynoTech of course has the best, newest, state of the art high speed balancers in the industry to make our shafts on.
Each shaft is balanced at between 7500-8500 rpm and even comes with a balance certification tag saying the speed it was balanced to and specs.

Our new driveshafts are an articulating splined slip style shaft.
The shafts slip on a huge aluminum splined assembly that is all self-contained inside a boot assembly.
This type of shaft provides a very smooth and positive plunge as the suspension twists and stretches.
Since these shafts don’t use a cv joint on the front like some of our other shafts have used and others on the market, they are very light weight.
The 3.5" aluminum shaft weighs in at only 15 lbs, compared to the OEM shaft that weighs 24 lbs. That is a 9 lb weight savings over the OEM shaft !!

We have been supplying the slip style shafts in our 9" kits all this year and the results have been stellar to say the least. The customers and install shops can't believe what a well-designed shaft these are and how smooth they feel on the road.

The shaft is a breeze to install, we provide billet adapters front and back that make this an easy bolt in so you don’t have to disturb the differential.

Your heat shields can stay on as well, you might have to bend them around a bit but they all fit just fine. Most people take them off but some like to leave them on.

Thanks
Chris

I ran the new style 3.5" driveshaft on the stock diff with no rubbing issues. I now have the entire 9" kit, no issues there either.

Thanks guys!

Can you PM me pricing on your driveshaft and post some of the advantages of going with a one piece driveshaft over the OEM one.

I'm assuming less weight means it can put more power to the ground?

One advantage is you can abuse the crap out of the GForce DS and not worry about it, not so with the OEM. I tried to break GForce DS with 715rwhp, no luck, but i did break my motor....but i was actually trying to in my defense!

Any time you can reduce rotating mass is a plus that frees up some HP. I don't know of any specific gain numbers though.

We have several options, you might take a look at our web site to see which one you might need. I will also send you a PM on prices.

You won't see a big performance improvement over a stock shaft, the main reason you would want to replace a stock shaft with ours would be the dramatic increase in strength you get with an aftermarket shaft compared to an OEM.
Our shaft is also considerably lighter so the weight saving will give you a slight performance improvement.
It takes less horsepower to spin less rotating mass.

Thanks
Chris

I am still awaiting the gforce shaft. I will say after about 70 miles with a competitor's shaft in my car, the felt difference in an m6 car between 1 piece and factory 2 piece is phenominal.

Did you get the new Dynotech shaft installed yet? We've been shipping out about 10 a week. They are selling like hot cakes, people love em!

If you read on other threads where other vendors are trying to throw our shafts under the bus, our shafts are nothing like the ones they are talking about.
They are talking about old school technology slip style shaft like you would see in a farm truck or something LOL

Our shafts are built by one of the largest driveshaft manufacturers in the industry and even come with a balance report showing how and what speed it was balanced on. Most are balanced to around 8,000 to 9,000 rpms.
They even manufacture driveshafts for Ford.

If your going to SEMA this year, come by the DynoTech Driveshaft booth. We will have these driveshafts on display.

Thanks
Chris

I'd also like to add that all of our shafts are built and shipped in 3-5 days, if you need one in a hurry, we can also expedite it even faster.

Thanks

I just talked to the guys at DynoTech and they make the shafts for the Ford GT500's. They are very similar to the shafts we sell for the Camaro.

All I can say is, if Shelby trusts these Dynotech 1 piece shafts enough to put in their Super Snake and Cobra Jet Drag cars then they must know that this is a superior design to any other style currently offered. Shelby could have went with any other shaft designer, but instead, being the innovator that Shelby was known for, after much testing, went with the Dynotech 1 pc design. The same design that Gforce is selling for our 5th Gens!

Sorry I had to mention Mushtangs on here but it proves that this shaft has been out there in use for some time without any major issues.

No problem, just wanting everyone to know that these are NOT just a simple splined male/female shaft.
The proper name for this style of shaft is "Articulating shaft"
If you look at some of the other high end cars out there like the Ford GT500 and others, this type of shaft is the one that is normaly used.
We didn't just throw this shaft together for the Camaro market, it is a proven shaft on several different platforms.
We even supply our 9" kits with them.

I'm not going to throw the cv joint style shafts because we sell those as well when someone requests one. We prefer to use the articulating slip shaft when possible. We've had very few problems with them compared to the cv joint style.

Thanks
Chris

i have the shaft sitting in the living room at the moment, waiting on adapter plates to arrive tomorrow. Chris you are getting bashed pretty good in the dss vibration thread. I am definitely impressed with the visual quality of this shaft. I am anxious to install it, as I want to be able to drive my car again without the annoying metallic knock that is louder than a cammed full exhaust(headers, no cats, flowmaster outlaws) note.

I'm not too worried about it, it's just one source doing the bashing.
Our Shafts work great and are not the ones with the problems.

Let me know how the shaft works out for you.
