Thanks!
That's factory tint. Late in the day so I guess shadow makes it look darker.

I ordered from Auto Trim Design, the grey fade for my black SS since it has grey stripes. I'll post pics when I get them installed. Here's a link to the installation video for both dry and wet application. It looks very easy.

OK I got the vent stripes installed using the wet method. It was very easy. However, I'm not sure I like the way they look. First of all the kit doesn't give the appearance of working vents since they are grey in color. Second I don't like the angles of the top and bottom of the stripes. I tried to trim the bottoms while wet but I'm still not sure I'll leave them on for long. The kit looks great on other color cars like red, orange, silver but black just doesn't look right IMO.

yeah... I agree. It doesn't really look right. I think maybe a really dark gray would work. Or perhaps a flat black. The close-up pic looks halfway decent but the further out you go it just doesn't work. And most people look at your car from a good distance. Thanks for being the guinea pig for this. Sorry it didn't work out though.

Hmmmm. I think it looks o.k. I do see what you're saying, that the gray doesn't have the same impact that black on any other color would. Leave it for awhile. It might grow on you.

Got mine today. Haven't put them yet, as I like the cropped version better and kinda being a chicken shiite taking scissors to them. Are people clipping the top and bottom of the decal or just the bottom? The top part looks straight already, while the bottom of the decal is at an angle. If I missed this in a previous post, I apologize. Will post pics when I get them on.

Did you put them on with wet or dry method? Did you trim them or leave them alone?

Absolutely WET method dont try it dry i messed up other decals that way and they leave bubbles underneath. just spray some soapy water and then apply.

i didnt cut anything i just lined them up as good as possible and it came out even.

i found 1 picture

I put on them this morning (I know...will put up pics soon), and it looked fine. Now in the afternoon. Some air bubbles are showing up. How do I get rid of these now? Thanks for the help.

On a black car use Flat black it will look best!

I have the auto trim design ones but these look much more real, I just do not know if I can spend $60 on them.

They look good in the pics. I am thinking about scrapping mine and getting the SLP ones now. Even if they are overpriced.

Any guidance on applying these things? I just got the 'thin' gill decals... no instructions or guidance to ensure proper alignment.

For anyone on the fence about buying the overpriced SLP ones, do it! They look very realistic.
