Ticking noise...

I saw a thread about this awhile back but can't find it now.... It explained what that ticking noise is coming from the engine.... my question is .... Is there anything that can be done to make it go away ? Thanks

I heard the ticking noise at the back left side. I asked the service dude at my local chevy and he said it was normal and he has people asking him about it all the time. I think he said something about the relay making the noise.

It is the high-pressure fuel pump. It has a piston that is depressed by the camshaft. Completely normal and there is nothing you can do about it. All Direct Injected motors have the same ticking. It may be less noticable in some because of baffling, but it is still there. Next time someone asks what it, simply reply "PROGRESS."
