Does ls3 reduce timing at wot shifts?

Car seems soft? After banging the next gear. My imagination? All stock

Sure does, it cuts throttle electronically. Torque management. You have to tune it out.

So is it faster to lift throttle shift or is it induced by pushing in the clutch. ?

It's the same either way. Clutch pedal retards timing and TPS in the stock tune.

My experience has been that going to 3/4 to 1/2 throttle while shifting has made the most pleasant chirping of gears and nice acceleration. I guess the trick is to keep the computer from intervening until you get a tune in her.

Why are ya'll shufting at WOT? You wanna kill the rearend and tranny? Geeze learn how to shift better and get a short throw shifter. They are not ment to be slammed into gear at full power.

I'm not sure I know how to finesse the car down the quarter. I guess an old dog will need to learn a new trick.

Vid of one of my runs. Watched again and saw the other car move like a car each shift. Hey thanks for the input.

No wonder why people have problems with manual transmissions. They really aren't built for that type of abuse. I guess that's the reason GM has the no lift shift feature on the ZL1.

Traction controll was disabled I think.
two taps and the lights come on in the dash. Also my last run I came out off the
line too hard and was fish tailing all over
Them ran it into rev limiter. A real piece of driving.

Jimz...two taps will only activate competition mode which still have traction control and stabilitrac set more loose but if you want to get rid of the torque management , TC and Stabilitrac you need to hold down the buttom for 8 seconds.

Ok , last fishtailing run was holding the button down for a long time instead of two taps. So if I thought the two taps was off but with stability still on.
So for the quickest time everything off and slip clutch out of the hole and lift shift, correct ?

If you insist on "power shifting" at least put a 2 step on it so you don't rev it to 7000+ RPm every shift.

It is theoretically possible to "reduce" time with a burst of tachyon particles coupled with gamma radi...... oh wait minute.

Just a guess here - but your 60' are not lower than 2.x no?
I would offer slipping the clutch is not the right approach, finese the throttle - launch with only 1/3 to 1/2 throtlle then feed the engine throttle (as much as she can take) you will hear the engine start to bog if you are giving it too much throttle.

It takes the computer a while to recover from hitting the rev limiter. Its not just the timing your pulling when you hit the redline. I think you wouls see your times improve just by shifitng before redline using the clutch to shift.

I always "no-lift" shift. This thread confuses me. My car doesn't bog at all.

As for the transmission and drivetrain not being able to take the abuse, that's BS. It's no harder on those components than a hard launch off of the line.

So, I guess if you want your Camaro to last, park it in the driveway and stare at it all day long.

I think the ECM still has the "shift firmness" control on all the time. only way to turn that off is with a tune.

I have never lifted the throttle pedal on my car on my countless times down the 1/4 mile and not once have I bounced off the rev limiter. The only pedal that moves in my car during a race is the clutch. Never been an issue here and I still have OE clutch, shifter and rear-end with 560 tire in a blown car.

I don't get all this lifting business when racing.

+1

I've never hit the rev limiter, either. Just gotta be quick with the shifts!

So in review
Traction control button hold down for seven seconds or two taps or one tap ?

Launch and full throttle through shifts or
Lift or halfway ?

What is the quickest way to wrangle a stock as manual down the track?
