Water management bag,??? I've never had a leak, no waves or any of the problems discussed here. Love the car and have had it just nearly 4 months now.

I'm still a little confused about just where this "Bag" is you all keep referring to. Michael in Virginia

The bag lines the well that the top folds down into. Water is then collected and drains through two tubs down and out of the car. Any issues with the bag or the tube results in interior flooding.

The water management bag is a separate part # from the top and mechanics. Ill go look at my receipts from the repairs to find the part #.

Swing and a miss @ the dealer today. They have no loaner cars so I'll be back tomorrow. Did talk with their service ace and he looked at the car and wants to send it back to the trim shop, I agreed with him. He knows these tops etal are a pain in the ass to work on. He will be the one to pull the wet carpet, change the padding and re install.

I really don't like the incessant problems with the car, who would? However the service people that I have dealt with have treated me very well, they have yet to tell me no to anything.

Stay tuned.

Wow, my dealer usually just gets me a rental from Enterprise. they don't keep loaner cars for insurance reasons.

Yeah, my dealer also got me a loaner from Enterprise when I had the dash bubbling fixed. Totally free of charge.

Got to meet the new service manager today when I was given the run around for the second time about availability of loner. I introduced myself and he said, "Is your's the red Camaro?" I couldn't help but laugh out loud, I asked him how'd he know and he said he had been briefed about the car. Talked for about 15 minutes, he is a car guy not just a suit. This is a very BIG dealership... and I am famous. I'm the guy, "that knows ALL about his Camaro and brings his own TSBs with him." (Thanks C5.com)

He assured me that the leak will be taken care of and that my carpets will be removed cleaned and padding replaced. We'll see. I have been trying to stay optimistic.

Different dealers deal with loaners cars in different ways.

Some dealers, like the main one I deal with, have their own fleet of loaner cars, mainly Chevy Cruizes. Some other dealers have a standing arraingment with the local car rental company such as Enterprise.

Either way, I believe (you'd have to check to make sure) that if your car is in for warranty work and they have to keep it overnight or longer, they are required to provide a loaner car of some type.

AFAIK, they are NOT however required to make it a vehicle similar or better than what you brought in for work.

Right, I have driven a Cruise 2 times a Malibu 3 times and a Impala once.

There is always car rental paperwork. I have also been driven back and forth to work and the dealership a few times. Man no wonder they know me!!

I have never had any car rental paperwork on a loaner. The dealer takes care of everything.

I had to fill out paperwork when I got my loaner from Enterprise for the dash bubbling issue. They even hit my card for a 100 dollar hold......which was fully refunded upon return.

Unless policy has changed in the last 4 years, that was my last loaner, I never heard of anything like that.

I wasn't too thrilled about it, but honestly had no choice. The Enterprise guy sprung it on me when he showed up. Plus they tried to sell me an optional insurance for 18 bux a day, which I refused since my current insurance covers rental vehicles.

Those jerks will do anything to squeeze a buck out of ya!!

I have noticed a general calming of the convertible rants, except for a couple people that seem to take any opportunity to take a shot at the convertibles, it seems more and more are getting their issues taken care of either through replacement cars or repairs of their existing one. I hope this trend continues.

I am just glad to see all the noise I made last year and this winter along with several others on here paying off. We stuck our asses on the line for those just coming into the Camaro brotherhood. Hopefully it has and will continue to pay off.

Tired of it myself, after 120 days out of service since January 2012 and dozens of repairs including the recent failure...I've retained an attorney. Chevrolet has offered nothing but BS to me since day one. I noted the problem with the top day one of the purchase. I actually had several attorney's send me retainers. Never thought I'd have to pick and choose. Too bad I have to go that route. Customer Service offered me nothing all along, and as this traveled up the totem pole the more arrogance I was subjected to. Done.

There is no doubt that the information and experiences shared here has helped not only the car owners but the dealerships and GM, I think it also shows that the dealership really can play a big part in providing satisfactory service. So far I have colored inside the lines, and every issue I have had has been addressed all be it slowly and sometimes I have had to help by providing TSBs, ect.

The exchange of information on C5 and FB has allowed me to take the lead in the servicing direction of this great car and the cooperation of the dealership has allowed me to keep my cool.

They have had my car now for another three days while they dry carpet and troubleshoot the water management system. If I were so inclined I could force a buy back or have the car lemoned. I am glad that it has not needed to be escalated to that.

TramTwo -- they need to REPLACE that carpet if your top leaked. The mold and mildew smell will come back, and the stain will as well. Force the issue. My dealer finally got the message through to Chevrolet and had the carpet "approved" for replacement.

Always in debt to you guys for putting it all out there for us to see. We may have been another flock of sheep with the "it's normal" routine if not for the networking among owners.

No smell and it only got wet once. I will settle for new padding and a shampoo for now. Thanks.

The car is STILL being worked on. Tomorrow makes a week. So it takes longer to fix a top than to replace it.

Still working on getting mine completely fixed. In shop with transport time of 2 weeks. Now has to go back sometime when they get an answer from GM tech services of how to make this right. My installer who is working hard at getting this corrected wasn't happy that GM thought this was a 4.5 hr job. He stated he'd like to see GM techs do it in that amount of time.
