The bigger issue is do LS3 headers fit with the belly pan and all the other "ZL1" stuff . .

Stainless Works and SLP fit headers for the ZL1

Get some 1/4 mile times before and after please so everyone can see what high flow cats will do to your trap speed.

Here are the American Racing headers on my car.

They are the same header as used on the SS.

I have SLP Headers on my car. They are part of the SLP Stage III package for the ZL1.
They are made with 100% stainless steel made in USA and are cut, bent, coated and polished all at their facilities in NJ. So they are made in USA with USA steel.

The had to cut some of the cover under the car for fit, but it's neat and clean.

I can take pictures if you need them.

Also, I have had NUMEROUS comments about how great they sound with the stock exhaust. I am VERY happy with them.

I believe most anything that fits SS will fit ZL1. It sounds like the belly pan will have to be trimmed around the collectors, but otherwise, it shouldn't be a problem. That's what I noticed from Redline's build anyway...

I welcome any and all pics' you guys are willing to share I can't do this mod', but it is just nice to know for referrence

Do theses have to be tuned like on the SS?

I have a set from my LS3 SS I want to put on the ZL1 the flanges look ok but not sure about the fitment.

I don't see what would be any different about a ZL1 header...everything's the same to do with that part with the SS..

Anyone putting headers on may want to buy a spare Belly Pan if you want to convert back to stock. Or buy the "shorty" headers so you don't have to modify the pan.

The earlier SS Kooks will not fit the ZL1 without modification, and yes they do need to be tuned. The flanges are the same, it is the tubes that are different.

Everything is not the same on the two cars, the primary tubes on the passenger side will hit if using the old SS headers, however the new ZL1 headers will fit any Camaro SS as well as the ZL1 of course.

Do the ZL1 headers require cutting of the belly pan? I'd like a set of headers that that don't modify part of the car that was specifically designed for ZL1 and essentially be de-engineering the car. What other brands require cutting and which ones don't.

Yes they do, as far as I know and have seen all long tube headers require cutting of the belly pan. It's not really in a area that is going to change any of the characteristics of the pan though. The NACA ducts for the transmission are not touched. You just want to make sure whoever is modifying your pan that they do it cleanly.

Shorty headers will not require cutting but they won't give nearly as much gains, if any.

THANKS FOR THE PICS'!!! That's the first that I could easily see that the pans are what looks like fiberglass. I was hoping they weren't plastic or something, but it looks like either fiberglass, or SMC, like older 4th Gen doors and trunks were made of.

I'd like to see what those ARH shorties do, because that's the way I'd have to go... If I could get away with LTs, I surely would
