Launch assist question

I have a 2010 2SS/RS, and i'm the only owner. For years now i've been trying to figure out the launch assist. Can anyone fill me in on exactly how to use it? I't my understanding that with in competative mode and a stop with clutch pushed in it should hold the rpm's around 4K. My car dosen't. Is there anything i'm missing? Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure how to do it since I have a V6, but I believe it is clearly outlined in the Owner's manual

You have to put the car in Competitive Mode. Press the T/C button twice, you'll see the T/C and Stabillitrak lights turn on and in the DIC it will say Competitive Mode.

After then when you come to a complete stop, keep your left foot on the clutch, put the car into first gear and floor the gas pedal...the revs will hold around 4200ish rpm's.

This only works on a manual transmission car btw.

Its also breaks axles and makes you launch slower than if you learn to drive it.
