Because GM made our differential different from all the others and the market is not big enough to warrant the cost to make them yet. 3.73 without a posi is just more torque to burn one tire with.

Thxs. It makes sense. I woulda thought they would make 3.73's instead of the 3.55's they made available

A posi trac unit would be sweet if one was available. I would do some LPE 3.91's with it. It would be fast enough for me.

Once you start, it is hard to stop going fast. It seems fast for a while than you get used to it and you look for more.

You'd spend like 2000 in parts for just the stuff needed for the swap. Add on top of that how much for the 3.91s and then labor and there you go. Member Asanti has a thread on how he did it by himself and what parts he had to get

I've seen used diffs go for under $500...just keep an eye out. You'll also need axles and hubs which dont cost that much. I have axles i'lll sell ya cheap. Not sure which driveshaft you have to use, but i can send you one of those too. I wont spend $2000 + the cost of the gear swap...unless you buy everything from a dealer.
