Rally stripe GM or aftermarket

I see the GM rally stripe kit is $350 . Some aftermarket kits are as low as $60. Is there that much of a difference in the quality ? Has anyone used an aftermarket kit and are you happy with it ? If i get sick of it after a year and remove it is hard to do and is the paint underneath damaged at all ? I have CGM and am thinking of a lighter gray stripe for hood and trunk and the 3 fins in front of rear wheels.

I did this same thing and yes they are easy to remove. When I got tired of the way it looked I pulled them off washed my car and clay bared where the stripes had been. Oh and am now looking at a different style and color of stripe package to put on my Camaro to change the way she looks again !

if you want a really custom looking stripe package, look into the NS-1 or really any of the NS stripes

Not a fan of those at all...the stripes themselves nor the dual hash marks.

They certainly aren't for everyone, but I love them and I have had TONS of compliments on them!

Not for everyone, as nothing is.

But, coming from a fellow Neighbor...ouch!

I think silver factory rallys look great on CGM.

I've put on several factory sets, and that's all I use. They can be found for well under 300 if you shop around.

The biggest advantage I find to the factory ones are the installation. The overlay acts as a template for the hood and deck, perfectly positioning them. All you need to do is find the centerline. Seen plenty of aftermarket ones installed completely off, probably because they didn't have good reference edges like the OEM overlay has.

Not to mention, warranted by GM if you have a problem. Have a dealer install the GM ones and they will be warranted for the rest of your bumper to bumper 3 yr warranty.
