How can i achieve over 600 HP

I know it takes more than a super charger to get over more than 600 RWHP, so i was wondering if any one could list the parts i would need in order achieve 600+HP...Id appreciate it so much because i am current in the process of trading in my v6 for a v8 (yes the bug finally got me :/), anyways thanks in advance!

I don't know for sure but I'd say a SC, maybe a change in pulley, LT headers with hi flow cats should get you close (look at Hennessy and Lingenfelter's builds where they list the components and HP's). If that didn't do it a cam should push you up to and over the 600 mark.

I'm sure people need to know also if you mean RWHP or just motor HP too!

You can do it with just a supercharger.

Procharger running 10psi on a friend's stock LS3 made 604rw.

Plus headers of course.

well heres the other catch, i wanted all 600 to actually be useable and i heard only a certain amount is used, i.e. the ss, dont you loose 30-60 hp (i could be WAY off) useable hp?

when talking about horsepower rating there are two types that people reference. First is:

FLYWHEEL or ENGINE power- this is the actual power that the engine is producing before any drivetrain loss in calculated in. I.E. they advertise the camaro SS produces 426 hp at the flywheel. so the actual that is used is less at the wheels.

the other is WHEEL horsepower- this is the actually amount of power that is usable at your tires on the road. Generally to get a rough idea of what this power is you can deduct 18% due to the drivetrain drain and other factors. so the camaro SS would be 426 x .18= 76.68 lost so a stock camaro would roughly make 350 wheel horse power.

hopefully that wasn't too confusing and helps.

hopefully this helps.

Seems like you need to expand your knowledge of what you're getting into here.

Auto or Standard? Much easier to reach 600rwhp on a Standard. Most supercharger kits combined with LT headers will get you close. Add a Cam and it's pretty much guaranteed But then you need to start looking at keeping your car alive. Built Trans, stronger axles, beefed up engine internals, etc...

Twin turbo kit works. 6psi should put you right around 600+ without buying a cam or exhaust or anything else. Just the kit on a 6sp car. 8 psi should break 600 on an auto without any issue

Depends how you want your power band.

If you want a solid 600rwhp all across your band that's going to be very hard to obtain.

Traditionally a top mounted s/c would be your best bet to get lots of low end torque and up top power. But a top mount will require cam/more boost to hit that rwhp number you want. Where as a centri will hit it much easier but it will lack that low end grunt that a top mount would have.

Really depends on your goals. I have seen lots of 550rwhp tvs2300 faster than other turbo/centri 600rwhp cars because they carry power consistently through the power band.

Well I took the twin Turbo route to get me to the 600hp goal. Due to being more efficient when it comes to how the power is made all I had to do was bolt on the Turbo kit, upgrade the fuel system a little bit, and get it tuned.

Not once did I ever have to take a part of my engine off to make it reach these levels and that's always nice.

I'm thinking a nice stock boost model supercharger kit at about 500-520 whp and a 100 shot of nitrous on top for track duty. ...but that's just my way of thinking.

Im thinking heads, cam, headers, CAI, and tune. will get you around 550 or so. Then do the force induction if you want/ need more. I would stay a way from the Oh Sh*t Juice (NOS) unless you want to get forged internals. Just my way of thinking.
