Bumper to bumper is covered for 3 years or 36,000 miles. After that (assuming you still have a stock power train), youre only covered for power train.

Please read the first post, you will see he means the 3 years will be over in December thus he will no longer have any bumper to bumper coverage.

Always consult the first post and not rely on the thread title.

It was close whether the three years would hit before the 36K. I bought the GMPP "Bumper-to-Bumper" for two more years for under $900 online.

It appears though you are saying your bumper to bumper was gone at a year and a half.. ???

I am aware of that and know how to read an OP.. but please read my reply to what he said... It appears as he is referring to his bumper to bumper was gone at a year an a half as this thread's topic is about bumper to bumper

The factory bumper to bumper will be gone for me in 10 days--little over 26k miles. Just to be safe, I did get the 6yr/60 or 65k GM warranty. Figured better safe than sorry for a first year model car, plus it'll be covered for the life of my loan.

Mine is set to finish on August 31st with under 4,400 miles (I have 4,200 right now but plan on driving it this month to a local meet and greet). But luckily I have the extend that covers anything for 6 years 60k miles I believe

Sorry I thought you were referring to the OP . The quote you referred to where he lost his after a year and a half, he ran out on mileage not time. 3 years or 36,000 miles whichever occurred first. In his case he was over 36000 miles in a year and a half. Sorry again for misquoting you.

Think of all these years you lost out on the fun by NOT modding your car. My warranty was out the window the first month I had it. No regrets here.

(I'm kidding of course. I completely understand why some folks choose to keep their warranty.)

I gotta agree with you on this one...warranty should be mileage based - not age based. I mean they have to understand and know that A LOT of people who own this car treat it nicely and garage it up...so therefore they do not get lots of miles on them... But i guess they also know that people who can afford to garage a car up have money meaning they can afford things...its all in the name of business...All i can say is when you hit that 25XXX mile age things start to actually need fixing - least that is what I found and so did my friends!!!

Well he only has 18k miles on it. Shit doesn't really break until you hit the 25-30k mile range. Guess he is saying he wishes the warranty wasn't age based - but mileage based.

Remember when there was no such thing as a bumper to bumper warranty and power train warranties were only for 12 months or 12000 miles? Plus there was no such thing as purchasing an extended warranty. We have it better now than ever warranty wise. Never has any manufacturer that i know of has made a mileage only warranty with no time limit.
Most average drivers drive 12K to 15K miles a year. If you run out of time or miles it's your problem not GM's. You can always buy an extended warranty. The choice as always is yours, drive it a little and run out of time, drive it a lot and run out of miles, you base the warranty solely on one or the other and you will still have people pissed about running out of warranty early.

Correct; my B2B expired after a year and a half, which is the time it took me to hit 36,000 miles. It's my daily driver and Texas is big!

My B2B was up in mid-June. Considering that I used it for issues with spoiler, seat-cover clips, steering wheel, and DRLs, glad I had it for the full 3 years...
One good thing is that anything addressed by a TSB is still covered, even if B2B is expired.

I've had warranty work done after all my mods no questions asked. Depends on what it was sold with also depends on the shop you take it to and how they write it up. Like for instance I needed my lifters replaced in my L99 but since they had to take it apart they were able to do the LS3 covered for the same price as my deductible. Usually stock parts from GM are more spendy then aftermarket. Also I payed for the cam (just the cam) they couldn't justify replacing it in the write up since it was ok.

That's a lot of miles in such a short time Sir!
Hopefully you've enjoyed every moment of it though.

A lot of those miles were highway miles; it's 550 miles between school (in Houston) and my hometown. I make that drive probably every 6 weeks.

Definitely enjoying it! Every new mod makes me feel like I'm driving a new car! It'll be at least 2 more years before I can trade up, so I'll make the most of it.

The only time I had to use the B2B warranty was for a leaky brake fluid cap. Otherwise, no issues!

I'm at 25 months and 19,000 miles (turned over last night).
Thankfully, I have the extended 5yr/60000 mile GM warranty ($100 deductible), so I am covered till it's paid for! Phew!

can you not buy extended bumper to bumper from your dealer if you do it before your 3 years is up?

If you would like to send me your VIN, I will be glad to check out your warranty. What happened with your PowerTrain warranty?
