I'm confused, what's the difference between this and V2SCAN22 besides the price?

Direct replacement, the one you mentioned is a scanner bar that isn't made to directly fit and snap into where the mailslot grille is on the SS fascia, this one is.

I used the code but there was no difference in price, is the sale over? I'm looking to replace the original scanner I purchased through AAC.

Is there any way that this one could be modified so that it can be controlled from inside of the car?

You can run a "kill switch" to turn the scanner on/off from inside the car.

Sorry, you already answered that one. What I meant to ask was can it somehow be wired with the same type of remote switch that the previous design has, so as to operate it from inside the car, vs installing an on/off switch?

This scanner runs off of data so the remote from the 22" scanner will not work on the mail slot scanner.

It is not a trend, it's a lifestyle.

So what does that wiring diagram look like? And will it stay on the same pattern when using the switch?

This is a diagram for a halo kit but it will be the same for the scanner.

I think it would be easier to pull power from the ECU box; it is closer and you can use one of the spare fuses.
