How do these heat exchangers compare to the Afco. None of these have the extra fans. Are the extra fans not necessary? Any dyno or test results comparing the Afco vs one of these specifically related to extra fans running? How about the Afco with fans running or not running?

The Afco unit seems suited more for a drag racer so you could run the fans in the pits, otherwise I don't see much benefit over any of these. For a road racer I'd recommend the Ron Davis unit as it is not so big as to potentially block air flow to the radiator. I do not have any dyno comparisons, but all of the heat exchangers listed have very high quality cores and will greatly help with IATs.

Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

Tyler

Just installed my Ron Davis heat exchanger. I had it anodized black for a stealth. I also installed a black tow hook. I'll provide an update after my track day next week. I also have a Ron Davis Radiator on order but that won't be in for a while. Thanks Tyler and JDP.

Yes, a bleeder up top and a drain valve on the opposing lower corner.

The Ron Davis heat exchanger definitely works. IMHO, the RD heat exchanger enabled the engine water temperature to run about 10*(205 instead of 215*-221*) cooler in normal driving and about 20* (225* instead of 245*-250*) cooler at Thunderhill West (Willows, Ca). It was about 95* on the latest track day and about 100* the previous day(either way it was pretty darn hot). I also believe that keeping the supercharged LSA engine cool is critical to keep it running at full power. I am really looking forward to the Ron Davis radiator which I should get in late August.
