Pic of New Vararam 2012

This is the new Vararam intake for the 2012 V8. From what Ive heard the v6 model will pretty much resemble this. This is not the final version but as you can see, no more ram air.

Personally I think the CAI looks much better.

That's weak. Someone's smoking crack at Vararam. I hope that's not their lame-ass late design excuse for 2012. Really pathetic, it looks like a cheap Roto-Fab rip-off.

We can only hope that this is a less-expensive version of the normal Vararam intake. If this is the only version for 2012, stick a fork in them.

So how is this a ram air? Looks like a normal intake to me.

According to Steve at Vararam, there is more to this intake than is shown in the pic. See Post#298 of this thread in the V8 section:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...araram&page=12

Whether any of this is relevant to the V6 version is not clear...

I think it's too soon to know if this is a good change or not. I, myself, don't care what it looks like, so much, rather how it performs.

It may be the same design but it looks different. I'm interested in seeing some dyno's on it.

I don't like those designs that push on your hood pad. It marks it over time. :/

I spoke with Vararam on Thursday an this is a summary of what they said. They are still working on the V8 version, its giving them some problems. He also said they are working on 2 models for Camaro's a new version of the ram air and the one pictured here. he said the V6 wont be ready for a few months after the 8 is completed. now the question is to wait or not to wait.....

I've decided to go with CAI. Ive waited long enough. I can't see this performing any differently than all the other intake kits out there. And Varam's absence from any discussions on the topic is pretty bad.
