Tuned price

Has anyone ever tuned their 2ss, there's a guy close by that does it, you have to by a sct tuner from him for like 350 and another 300 for the tune, does this price sound right? If you have tuned a stock ss, can you give feedback on horsepower gain

Since you're in Charlotte give Alvin and Kelly a call at PCM. Alvin has been tuning LS engines for years.

There is also Heintz Racing and others..you have plenty of choices!!! I would save average dyno tune is going to run $500.

I'm sorry guys, I'm kinda new to this, can you get a tune without the car being on the dyno? Does this void factory warranty?

Yes, tuning will void warranty and you WANT a dyno tune for best results.

Didn't you make another thread about parting with your car and now you're tuning it?

1. Yes (see post #2)
2. Yes, any tuning will void your factory Power Train warranty.

I wouldn't bother with a shop that makes you buy a tuner so they can tune it. Reputable shops will already have the program and can just charge you for the tune.

And yes, a Dyno tune is much better than a "canned" or "mail order" tune. That's not to say the other options is terrible but real world tuning is always better.

i am assuming your car is farely stock, that being said the JRE tune is more than enough and it is mail order...as far as the warranty my car is cammed/blown headers and i still get warranty work done as long as nothing i did affected car....i even lost the program in my re-motes and they said the tune had nothing to do with it.

We have Tuned SS's and it's $600 and will provide you a minimum of 10% RWHP and RWTQ as well as save you 10% in gas mileage.

Thanks,

Jesse!
