MRT v2.0 exhaust questions for those who have it.

Did you weld yours on or use the clamps that came with them ? Is there an advantage to doing one or the other ? Difference in sound ? Thanks !

I would guess a weld on job would always be the go-to route. Clamps have at least some chance of failing and that weld isn't going anywhere.

I don't see sound being a problem unless you didn't have them clmaped properly.

If possible I'd go with welding them on.

Clamped mine. Just traded my 2012 or a 2012 1SS and stripped the car back to stock. Was so easy with the clamps. If it was welded i probably would of traded the car with the expensive exhaust on the car. :(

Clamped mine. Had an issue with one not getting tight enough and it kept moving on the exhaust pipe. Took out the spacer and all is good.

Like others have said, clamps have the opportunity to loosen over time, leak, etc. Weld for the win.

I always weld my exhaust but I can't give you a legitimate reason why. I just do.

Clamped and not a bit sorry. Works great. It also allowed me to align them the way I wanted them. Once they're welded, they're there to stay, obviously.

I suggest clamping yours first. If you later find you want them welded...

Mine is clamped on. Didn't want to pay for the weld and wanted to make sure I liked it before I made it permanent. Just never had it welded.

Have been wondering if I was going to weld mine or not when I finally break down and order them.
