You don't break in a race car. You start it up, heat it up, check for leaks, let it cool down, take it to the track and race it.

Easy break in costs horsepower. I am willing to bet if you buy a COPO Camaro it doesn't come with 100,000 mile warranty. Maybe a 1/4 mile warranty.

Looks like he ran that into a headwind....Bet it can go even faster on a better day.

That's a better than I thought. I wonder how fast they can get it after it's dialed in with a better launch.

that's also a super stock car..... not sure if the copo is set up out of the box for stock or super stock, but you can do a lot more to the car in ss....

Power glide trans.....straight axles rear 5600 stall converter. (just going by what I see in the video).

And yes, we have several Super Stock Championships in NHRA & IHRA.

I have five super stock wins, a bunch of second places.

This Copo is stock, we were just at the track tuning the launch a little bit, I am going to get further into tuning this car next week, this is #003, has the 5.3 engine and 4.0 Whipple. I was very happy to see 8.88 on the 3rd pass right out of the trailer with just a little launch tuning. It is running out of gear too, couldn't even make a full pass, think we are gonna have to make a gear change.

Great job guys. Can't believe its running out of gear. You would think GM would have already known that if they tested the combo in the 1/4.

Bet it will go 8.60's stock in good DA and lot less headwind.
