Doing my ZL1 2nd oil change at 7000mi...but I've got a question

Probably been asked before but anyone know the oil capacity on the LSA with oil filter changed. And another concern why is it sooo difficult to see the exact oil level on our dipsticks such an annoying P.I.T.A!!! after putting some oil in the engine. It would have been easier if i had bought the synthetic oil in quarts. but i'm trying to be economical so i bought them by the gallon. . so far i've got approximately 6qts in i think. I dont want to over fill because i read it could damage the motor. Any help and tip on this would be greatly appreciated.

If you cant see the current level indicated, you could try slight baby powder. Read that somewhere on here. Have fun.

All Camaro 6.2 liter engines hold 8 quarts LS3 and LSA

For all us Canadians that equals 7.6 litres. My first oil change took 7.8 but that was due to the drip dry timeframe. 7.6 will be the normal from here on.

I absolutely agree with you about the dipstick and the fact that it is hard to read. I really hate that dipstick. You can do what I did and buy a dye kit price is not the high maybe 30 or $40. You add the dye which is completely harmless to the engine And with the glasses included light you will have absolutely no problem about reading the dip stick. I realize this solution is only for the extremely ANAL person but it is one way to skin the dipstick so to speak
