What year Chevy was the last "Super Sport"?

Was it the '69 Impala? According to dealer sales folders, what was the last "Super Sport" not "SS".

It's my understanding that all SS models are Super Sport.

That's the latest year probobly that was a Super Sport. I think the SS454 Monte's were not "Super Sports", just SS454's.

The "RS" nowhere is stated that the camaro has a "Rally Sport" package in the camaro line-up. Of course, the last RS called a Rally Sport was in 1980.

Just want to know what was the last model year chevy-any model-was called "SUPER SPORT" in the factory-issued literature. It has never been called a Rally Sport Super Sport in the 5th gen Camaros.

Quote from link below

"The Rally Sport (RS) option, RPO Z22, includes special black painted grille with concealed headlights and headlight washers, fender striping (except when sport striping or Z28 Special Performance Package is specified), simulated rear fender louvers, front and rear wheel opening moldings, black body sill, RS emblems on grille, steering wheel and rear panel, Rally Sport front fender nameplates, bright accented taillights, back-up lights below rear bumper; also includes bright roof drip moldings on Sport Coupe. $131.65, 37,773 built. This option could be added to any other option IE- SS or Z/28, making the model an RS/SS or a RS/Z28."

Yes, with it spelled out. That el camina is pretty late. I had 2 '64 Impala SS's. There were 6 "SS" emblems but no "Super Sport" emblems.-the fender emblems in'65 went to "Super Sport". Even the 1st "SS's in '61 only had "SS" emblems

nothing. it's an rpo code. L means engine, s or t, etc just designates which style.

diesels are lmm, lmz, lly, etc etc.

LSx, LTx, etc etc

Zxx is a performance package, like Z06, ZL1, Z71, etc etc

the numbers and letters all mean something on the factory floor. windows, doors, engines, etc all have their own codes. marketing dept not too creative.

I got this from Chevy's SS website...

Chevrolet has a long history of using the SS (Super Sport) designation on high-performance models of some of its most enduring nameplates, most recently on Camaro* models. The limited production version of the Chevrolet SS will debut as part of the 2014 model year and will arrive in dealer showrooms late 2013.
