Say I want 500 RWHP

For a daily driver, and for my needs... 500 RWHP seems about all i'll be wanting. My question is, whats the easiest and cheapest way to do this?

With or with out a power adder? Cheap way is bolt on's and spray or heads/cam. Depending how far you want to go.

Expensive = Nitrous. Hard on engine, but there only when you want. Unless the bottle's empty.
More Expensive = Full bolt ons, heads, cam. Most drastic change in MPG, idle, and driving characteristics
Most Expensive (but not by much) = TVS 2300 supercharger. Little change on MPG or driving characteristics, stupid amounts of torque.

Nitrous is pretty much just as hard on the engine as a supercharger in different but similar ways. But, for the most part I agree with your comments there, other then price I guess to an extent of use anyways. More info will come and be more efficient as time goes on and more 5th gen camaro's are out there.

Yeah, sorry. I didn't mean to say that superchargers and H/C weren't hard on an engine. All 3 are going to put more stress, especially at 550hp. I just said that because of all the people I've known that have ever modded their cars, the ones who did nitrous seemed to have more broken parts than the other two options. Except for the one guy I knew who installed his camshaft wrong and broke the valves on the pistons.....

I don't know too much about the LS3's yet, but based on what I do know, I think full exhaust, CAI/Tune, UDP's, Ported TB, FAST 102MM Intake Manifold, and a large Cam would get you close to 500rwhp. I saw a dyno of a 490rwhp cam only LS3 Vette the other day so 500 seems somewhat easily achievable.

I would do the TVS charger kit and get a safe tune .. maybe not the cheapest, but I believe it will be very reliable ...

The LS3 can make 500rwhp with bolt-ons and cam only. Howver it will lope because of the monster cam. I won't consider notrous because I want constant power and about $5,000 500rwhp can be reached.

Although I have an L99 my goal is to get as close to 500rwhp with cam only as I can.

You can absoulutly pass the 500 rwhp mark with just heads cam. Look at this video. That car is a ls3 corvette with and ecs cam and factory heads ported by TEA (trick flow found here at www.totalengineairflow.com) They only charge like 1100 to do it and the work is top notch. This guys is makeing 525 rwhp with their heads and a cam. He has american racing headers as well whish is what I would reccomend. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/C...ads_189782.htm

Ah has said the 1 7/8 will support A LOT of power. The 2 inch would be for an extreme case of 900-1000 HP +
