17" Z06 wheels out back of the ZL1?

I have searched the forum and have seen conflicting info on fitting 17" Z06 wheels on the back of the ZL1 for the track. Does anyone or has anyone tried/used 17's on the back? I saw that people used them on the SS and from what I understand it is the same rear rotor/caliper size on the ZL1 and SS.

I found a killer deal on some Z06 wheels with drag radials, but they are 17's.

Input??

Thanks,
Jeremy

I am guessing with almost 100 views no one has done it on the Z?

Time to find a buddy with a Z06 and give it a shot. Waiting along with everyone else.

Finding the issue you want... and the issue I want (a spare donut combo that will fit on the front calipers) has been very very ELUSIVE!

Your spare donut issue might be able to be handled by using the 2009+ CTS-V space saver wheel/donut combo.
We use these as front runners on C6 Z06's, but our specific hub diameter, bolt pattern, and wheel off-set, require a small adapter to get appropriae clearance away from the caliper.

The bolt pattern (5x120mm) and hub diameter (66.9) is the same for Camaro SS/CTS-V . Given that the CTS-V uses the Brembos, I would think the wheel might just be a direct bolt-on for a ZL-1 car.

It's worth looking into.

While this may be of no benifit, we use the C5 Z06 17x9.5 front wheels on the back of C6 Z06's for drag wheels....without the use of any spacers.

The hub diameter and bolt pattern is a bit different for a Corvette....

Hub diameter is 70.3 mm........3.4 mm larger than a Camaro, so the wheel wouldn't be hub cenrtic.

Bolt pattern is 5x120.7mm ......Camaro is 5x120mm, so while a very small amount the pattern is still a tiny bit different.

I guess I am just going to have to take the car down with me and test fit a wheel before I purchase. I was just trying to get some answers before I drive 2 hours one way for a set of wheels and drag radials.

Worst case scenario, I just get to enjoy the Z a little more.

Since ZL1's wheel setup is the same as the SS's that 17" wheel won't work. If you want to run a 17" wheel it'll have to be a Bogart, Weld, or CCW.

Thanks for the info. That was exactly what I was looking for. It saved me a 4 hour round trip for nothing.
