Tunes and warranties

This may have been discussed but wouldn't it be possible to have a 2nd PCM with your tune and keep the stock one for service. I know the tcm can't be removed but can a reflash be seen on it. Also, there is the issue of a case relearn with a different PCM. Can this be seen by the dealer. I know it's not the cheapest option but it may save the warranty.

Yes, it would be possible to have a 2nd ECM for your car. But it would only serve as a paper weight in regards to 'fooling' the dealer. The ECM is matched to the car at the factory. The dealer will instantly see a different ECM/PCM. Any 'flashes' to the PCM will be seen as well. Deleting the AFM, adjusting fuel/timing, all that will be seen once a tech hooks up to the car.

Short answer is: No. It won't work. If you want to tune your camaro you have to give up your warranty. There is No way to cheat the system.

If you search through the Tuning/Diagnostics subforum you will see this topic has been beaten to death many times.
