TSW Rims

Im really liking these TSW rims. I got the set for my drag radials but I'm having a hard time wanting to take them off! Taking it to the track on Friday to see how the Mickey Thompson ET streets work. I was leery not going with an 18" rim for more sidewall but figure if M/T makes them they must work. I'll find out tomorrow. Supposed to be about 72 degrees tomorrow so conditions should be good.

specs:
Rims-
20 X 9 (front) 20 X 10.5 (rear) TSW Nurburing in gun metal gray
Tires-
275/35-20 (front)
305/35-20 (rear)

So if you are having a hard time taking off your TSW's does that mean you might be looking to sell your ZL1 wheels?!!

I am soo glad you posted the pic. Wish you would have done it 2 weeks ago. lol I was thinking on getting my ZL1 rims powdercoted gunmetal but couldnt find one with these rims on it and my color car. Now i am sad i didnt wait, the dealer had to cover a refinish on all 4 of my wheels under warranty and they were going to let me do them in ANY color i wanted. This was my original 1st choice.

Car looks sharp as hell, id keep those wheels on it.

Wheels look awesome on your car. And they are lighter than the ZL1 wheels.

Track day results

I'm pretty happy with the drag radials! My last trip to the track, the best I could get it to run was 13.3. The stock tires just wouldn't hook up in the launch mode. These drag radials made a world of difference. The mode 5 worked well with minimal tire spin on most of the runs. This was my fastest 1/4 but my slowest r/t time. I was hitting .1's and better pretty consistently. I kept feeling there was an even 12.0 sec. coming but it just didn't get there. This was only my second time to the track and I feel I improved a ton. Cant wait to go again. Maybe tomorrow! This car is a blast! By the way I beat several new 5.0 mustangs, and a Zo6. Actually the Zo6 had a better qtr but I beat him off the line and made it across the finish first. If it was a road race, I had him!

I had those very same wheels on my SS, the thing that was impressive was how much lighter they were over the factory 20s, I think the factory tire and wheel was nearly 70lbs, vs the TSW at 40lbs. If you didn't have them powder coated be careful, they will begin to dis-color, the factory paint on these wheel is worthless.

I think that's a little off.

On a Camaro SS the difference should be around 60 lbs Nurburgrings/with tire vs. Stock wheels/with tire 68 lbs.

I also believe ZL1 wheels weigh between 27 - 30 lbs. So with the Nurburgrings you'd save about 3-5 lbs per wheel.

I was running the 18" but here was the exact weights:
Dug up my old post. "Just installed 18" all around the car and I will say this, the pure weight savings alone is worth the swap. Stock 20" wheel/tire 71 lbs, aftermarket TSW 18" wheel/tire 46 lbs."

I just put the rims on my car two weeks ago and they look incredible. Gun metal with Cgm paint looks realy nice. Next to the black zl1 rims I think these are the best.

He's running 20x9.0 and 20x10.5 wheels with wide 20" tires.

Your 18" wheel and tire combination will definitely save you a lot of weight.

For a ZL1, 20" Nurburgrings combined with 20" tires will shave maybe 5 lbs per wheel (Black ZL1 wheels about 3-4 lbs per wheel).

I love the TSW Nurburgrings! I have a set from my SS that are powdercoated black with a red trim stripe that I will be using as my winter wheels. They are some of the best looking wheels on a Camaro!
